Been using the 42" C4 as my monitor since March 13th and I've loved it. My biggest complaint was slow menus but there was an update a few days ago that made them a good bit faster.

Super duper excited about LG G4 83". I've been wanting to upgrade from 77" for a while, but was disappointed that those big panels didn't have the best OLED tech (MLA). Would love a 83" QD-OLED, but that doesn't seem to be on the horizon.

Exact same situation here. Just put the order in for the 83" yesterday, deliver end of April. Super pumped! Price drop on the G3 was temping, but lack of MLA on that big of an investment was a deal breaker

I've been asking myself the same questions regarding Samsung's Intelligent Mode, but in my case with the QN85D. There are times when the lighting and colors are over saturated. However, the image quality seems to be getting better the more I use it. So I'm not sure if it's "learning" (as in AI) capable or not. Regarding eARC, I don't think any of the outputs get adjusted by Intelligent Mode as those options are unable to be selected on my TV.

I’m almost ready to buy a new TV and sound system to replace my LG CX and Sonos Arc. Can’t decide between the LG G3 or G4, waiting to see prices in the UK (and whether the G4 comes with a wall mount in the box). Hi all!! Since Caleb didn't include this question in his videos here I go. Help me out please. I'm planning to buy 65 inches TV for my parents and I'm confused between Sony's X9L and Samsung's Qn90C. Sony premium in India seem to be even higher as X90L is around $1850 and QN90C is around $2050. I've searched around internet threads and people seem to prefer Sony due to its superior algorithm and upscaling prowess. Can you please suggest which would be better buy ?

Hi Caleb During your review you implied that the Sony HT-A9 speaker system might be revised this year.Wouldn’t it been at CES if that was the case? My dilemma is I have these Sony speakers now with a Samsung S95B tv but I keep having Bluetooth connectivity problems. Yeah those blue light reduction screen options a great deal either. I use it sometimes on my phone as to not blind myself late at night but it bothers me the way the picture is altered. I used to have blue light filtering glasses and it slowly drove me crazy cuz I would take them off and remember that everything has been slightly yellow/brown all the time.

Question : I just bought a 85" QN900C Neo QLED 8K Smart TV (2023) and used with a Mac mini 2023, M2, 1Tb, 32 ram as a media player. Few times the TV asked to prepare the best configuration for this arrangement. Afterwords I often experienced a black screen for few to five seconds very upsetting. Neither Samsung nor Apple took responsibility for this. After I adjusted the picture setting configuration and the power energy settings, the 8k configuration on Mac disappeared but also the irritating black screen. Now occasionally when I reconnect the mini hdmi cable with the tv hdmi, TV asks again to readjust its configuration with the Mac for the best possible picture. Should I do that again or stay away from it ? MUCH appreciate your input in this matter. Thank you …..

Screen blanking out after switching or adjusting ... sounds like you are running DSC Display Stream Compression. Because 8k HDR at 10 bit is too much for HDMI 2.1 to handle All 4k 240hz monitors do this as well. Try running in 4k and see if this happens . Find out how to check if your are using DSC

For HDR the G4 cannot win because of tech limitations of the panel, in dark scenes there wont be a difference but in bright scenes because the qd oled has higher color brightness the picture will look more realistic and lifelike. The A95L clear image tech to clean up low bitrate content and make streaming look better is the best I have ever seen on any TV. I dont know if the G4 can beat that we shall see.

Looking at the G4 over the S95D. Never had a OLED but would like to have one. Gonna use it for a monitor over a TV. I had a 85 inch Samsung 8K main tv that main board went out in 3 years and was replaced with the new 8K t v but it has a one connect box. Ugh

When I finally went OLED for my totally light controlled bedroom, I "settled" for an LG B2 and have had no complaints beyond the very aggressive ABL. I don't think I would benefit from a brighter TV, is it crazy to upgrade to a modern panel just for better heat sinks and ABL algorithms? I'm at 55" and can totally picture a 65" at the foot of my bed.

Samsung intelligent mode quite good in customize mode affecting only pictures mode. It makes the image sharp. I have judder and blur reduction set to 7 on s89c. When compared to off. I see more juddering image (not smooth) Everything else is off using it with Samsung 990c

If I get an OLED it's almost certain to be the G4. I know it's not QDOLED. But they got a little more color look to it again this year. So I bet it's not going to be that much difference and you won't notice if you don't have a QD next to it. It will be bright and have lots of features and processing. Gaming flawless at 144Hz for us PC users, yes please. They fixed issues from last year. 5 year panel warranty for burn in risk etc saves money. I have to say the more I see that S95D anti-glare coating the worse it is. Many have tested several ways now and it destroys the image a lot. Even in small light scenarios. So ironically if it only does best in dark room. What is the point. There is that Sony MiniLED as well. I do want to see what it can do. The X95L was great last year. Imagine if this one is a big improvement. I like OLED but I am not like hardcore cannot handle blooming type guy. I like shadow detail etc of Sony.

Un warranted caleb put the s95d in room put it a room with sun light like fomo and you will seethe S95 take a huge dip in contrast and colors , I have seen the s95D in person at the high end store I go to.with the windows open and it is horrible, normal conditions and a dark room the image is excellent.

I have a LG G4 77" once I broke it in I had a professional come out calibrate it I am beyond ecstatic about my purchase.... All my T.V.'s are LG in my house never had not one issue with any of them

I saved on TV by switching to Fire TV Omni thinking Dolby Vision was Dolby Vision and something was too good to be true. I got stuck with a crap TV with ads all over it like Idiocracy movie. I’ll be sure to purchase based on expert opinion in the future and not my logical fallacies.

I have the 2022 Samsung S95B. I’m gonna send you some pictures of the worst room for Home Theater Dolby Atmos and I have the Sony HT-A9. The Sony is by far the best sounding system that I’ve ever purchased. The only thing that comes close to. It is the new Samsung 900. I have about 1 hour of glare. If I can figure out how to post pictures on this thread.

Unless Samsung processing does a leap jump from previous gen (severely doubt that) G4 will be simply better. G3 processing was already much better and G4 takes it a step further. I prefer a small object reflecting on the gloss rather than spreading across half of the screen impacting contrast. Also 83" G4 will be hard to resist

Na, still available just discounted and will still be available moving onwards. My prediction is that Sony is going to have their own version of Dolby Flex connect, so a 2023 /2024 TV becomes the connect box. I'm hoping they bring new speakers out but won't surprise me if they use the current RS5's and let you use 4 of these so they can be totally wireless apart from when you have to charge them. We already know the system is going to be called Bravia theatre quad.

Between these two I'd pick the Samsung S95D , I see no problem with the matte now. With that said I'm way more excited by Samsung's 8K QN900D and Sony's flagship mini LED over any OLED this year.

I would never pick Samsung there picture not very good when u look closely they have to much grey in there picture and don’t look like natural to me so lg will always win over Samsung in my eyes

@@x58evo2puma7 I have both lg c2 and Samsung S90c with 2nd-gen panel. Samsung is better in every category of picture quality. Brightness, uniformity, both color gamut and volume. Colors are great in low and high brightness. LG is very good too but it's an easy win for the Samsung. QD-OLED is just better than W-OLED. Firmware, UI and remote is an easy win for lg though.

Have any of these outstanding Dolby FlexConnect questions been answered yet? 1.) Is there any upper limit to the number of wireless speakers the system can support? 2.) Is there any upper limit to the number of wireless subwoofers the system can support? 3.) Does the TV always have to act as the center-channel speaker in the setup or could a wireless speaker step into that role? 4.) Do you always have to keep the TV speakers on or can they be shut off while letting all of the wireless speakers do all the work? 5.) Will the speakers be able to be purchased from (and swapped among) various brands or will you only be able to use Hisense FlexConnect speakers with your Hisense FlexConnect enabled TV? 6.) Will there be FlexConnect enabled headphones available as well? 7.) Will there be a limit to the number of FlexConnect headphones that can be connected to the system? 8.) Will the FlexConnect system be set up so that you can adjust the volume level on each wireless speaker independently of the others or will there only be one master volume level for the entire system? 9.) Will the subwoofers have independent volume levels that can be set separately from the wireless speakers?

ABL is found on all display tech not just OLED…even the highest end LCDs have it, just to a less degree…. Take for instance the full field luminance being lower than peak luminance or smaller window sizes, even on a Mini-LED. It just got blown up when OLED was peaking around 800 and only getting around 120-150 full field, and that was ultimately the term the AV common coined for what we perceive as the display dimming as the window gets larger. Which is very jarring on first generation/older OLEDs, and is finally becoming a moot point to an extent. Very happy to see OLED manufacturers focusing on full field luminance now than just the peak luminance on small windows. Both are equally as important imo.

LG G4 ftw. The screen on the S95D kills the picture quality. Any light that is in front of the screen completely destroys the picture, look for classy Brian’s review.

OK so Samsung OLED tvs dont play Dolby Vision and LG dont play HRD10+ ex : S90c vs LG C3. But: If DV is 12 bit and there's no 12 bit tvs yet, this means that LG really is not playing the full version of DV but instead it uses some tweeking technique like 8bit FDR ? Now this would be lying and you would be paying for a tv that does not deliver the goods plus the model C3 for example has less of a gamut of colors compared to the S90C .. adding to the problem of DV 64 millions or billions of combinations of colors that this tv is not able to show! Am I missing something here?

Dolby vision is just essential, fluid frame to frame picture calibration just makes content look so much better especially for the vision challenged.

Dolby vision vs not having Dolby vision is a preference and there is a difference between the two, and can depend on the content you might watch. Obviously Dolby vision is relevant and different bc it’s the most wide spread and still the HDR format preferred by movie makers. Both work, but with new standards rising and new content that will soon be able to be made with new monitors, higher nit levels, more color volume and new advancements Dolby vision will continue to improve. Plus we pay on every app for the standard of content for 4k HDR Dolby vision so why not have it when you pay for it and the movie makers and apps who supply the content choose that as a part of the package you pay for. It will only get better and more content will only continue to grow with it.

Top 10 “youasked” of all time!! 🎉 I use Samsungs Intelligent mode for all the audio benefits but none of videos with my Q90C and Q990C. The video settings seem better to me by adjusting the settings manually but set to each “picture mode”. 🎉

‘Anti-glare’ coatings that result in matte finishes are universally terrible and always ruin the picture quality of the display.

Adaptive noise means your tv is listening to everything you say all the time. Don't think that is a great idea to use.

Whatever you used to comment is listening to you right now. Go ahead and say some key phrases like “pizza, hungry, lunch time, Pizza Hut, Home Depot, Target, Best Buy”. You’ll start see ads for these places or get emails from them and usually within minutes and there’s nothing you can do about it.
