@@miyczowiek6817 sorry maybe it was not the best way to say it, by few weeks I mean 12 actually.. from zero to the level I am now.. I searched a lot of grammar to have at least a good basis, but mainly it’s been tons of videos and podcasts (with subtitles/transcriptions) and reading almost daily.. I’m happy, I think it was a good progress, but there is still much to do.. for example I love football and try to watch some interviews of German players, but I understand very little.. with the subtitles gets a bit better but it is still really tough..

@@miyczowiek6817 maybe, what are you main difficulties?? I think the process depends a bit on each other but there are some general shortcuts.. German is the second foreign language I study (English was a bit natural as I grew up) and I noticed I like to have a good (though not perfect) basis of grammar before getting immersed in the language.. For example I haven’t still memorised all the main verbs and prepositions that go with the dative case, but at least I know they exist and they require dem, der or den and which one corresponds to each gender.. This kind of stuff. I took two months of a lot of study focusing on these things.. And now it’s simply of matter of expose myself to the language as much as possible and get used to the prepositions, verbs and corresponding cases, patterns, etc.. and also vocabulary, plural forms and noun genders of course.. I think for now on that is what is going to require my time the most. Easy German has been helping me a lot these last weeks.. What I’ve done: I watch some videos almost daily, because they have the German subtitles (which is good because it helps me to understand what people say) and English subtitles (in order to pick up the vocabulary I still don’t know). And specially the podcasts: I signed up on Patreon and became a member and the podcast is being really helpful.. for the same reasons (transcript of the audio and etc), but also because they tend to follow a line of reasoning and it makes easier to get new words by the context and the themes are interesting.. It is not cheap, you may think, but I think it’s a way of supporting their job and it helps me a lot in order to improve my German.. it’s much cheaper than an average German course and much more effective (at least for me, considering I’ve already picked up the main grammar by myself). Aah, in the beginning, when I knew nothing, I used a lot of duolingo, which allowed me to practice and get used to the basics.. I still use it a bit though, just for fun.
