Who lets this idiot in the door. The whole point of a door is to keep LINUS types out. But someone decided it would be a good idea to invite him in. Just having him there LOWERS the value and results of this build in my eyes and instantly turns me off to how little they think of their own system. As they do not take it seriously enough to keep him out.

Would probably be pretty beasty. Our pentium 2 machine with voodoo 2 card and all the blows and whistles was nearly $3400 and that's the direct sum of money. If you compare the value of money back then to this day it would be closer to $6000.

I estimate my old Vaio PCG-719 laptop to cost around $6000 in 1997 ($9150 today), as the base model (PCG-705) cost $4500. The PCG-719 was the second-highest tier business laptop, and it has a Pentium MMX 233Mhz, 128MB ram (fully loaded), XGA screen, and some NeoMagic 2MB graphics chip. I got it for free from someone who purchased it for $5 at a thrift store. Jeez, and to think about what you could buy today for $9150...

He said they have 512 GB installed per module. So 512 GB per EPYC processor. There are 20 modules total, so the supercomputer has 10 TB of RAM shared between 32*20=640 computational cores. www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-inventec-epyc-server-mi25,35118.html A year ago here at TAMU we spent $2.1 million on a 0.5 Petaflop supercomputer with only 128 GB of memory per node (each node with 14 cores). So this is really impressive.

My estimation would be either running firmware updates since it's a fresh build or running a live OS since there isn't an optical drive. I didn't see a lights-out management port, so USB would make sense.

No output directly. The interconnect allows a remote display, or other pcie devices to access the framebuffer. As he said in the video.

damien merrylees no! When i have 40 fps in Koth on a 50+ player server with my 4.3ghz i5 poor people with fx cpus have about 25-30fps with stutters... arma and bulldozer doesnt like each other at all

Hey Linus! I have a challenge! It has probably been done before in someway but I want to know/see how you would do it. To put in short term a fusion of a Powered wheel chair (Jazzy, Hoveround, Etc) with a moderate Gaming rig that's not something as simple as strapping a laptop to it.
