I had a friend i met in 4th grade i had a crush on him ever since we met on the bus... there was something about him idk if it was his charm or humor but he just made me so happy. he was kinda popular at the time but still took time to hang out with me. i remember i went to the playground once and he was there. so we played tag but i sucked and we were just going back and forth. he would always tease me about it. it was just moments like that where we clicked and they made me love him more and more. i knew he had stuff going on at home cuz he misbehaved a lot and his mom died when he was younger in a car accident. he honestly just didn't have someone to tell him right from wrong. so a few months ago he was with some friends. they were drinking. they were on some stuff as well im not sure what. they decided to steal one of there parents cars and go on a drive at 2 am. when they were coming back they hit a truck and out of the 4 boys one lost there life. he was the boy. the boy ive loved for almost 5 yrs gone just like that. this song reminds me of him. and im sorry if this was too long and ik u probably don't care but idk this song just sparks something. i never got to tell him how i felt. and now we have to live knowing that he will never get to grow up, get married, have kids and just live life :(

After watching season 2, this song hits so much deeper. SPOILERS!!! BE WARNED!!! “I don’t know what I am supposed to do, haunted by the ghost of you” - literally all of season 2, he’s haunted by Hannah not knowing what he’s supposed to do anymore. “I had all, then most of you, some and now none of you”... different stages that Clay could see Hannah All - Before the bullying Most - During the bullying Some - Haunted by her None - She passes into heaven This song hits even more hard now especially after the very last episode of season 2 when the song plays at the dance after everything Clay goes through.

The emotional moment that was held to him was so pure . By far the best scene for me in this episode . Loved how the second season was written/made .

the most heartbreaking part about this song when I listen to it comes in 2 lines for me. The first being "And then I can tell myself, what the hell I'm supposed to do" because Clay is very clearly lost and confused even after he tells Hannah he loves her and lets her go because he knows that he will never truly be able to truly let Hannah go and Clay, although wanting to seek Justice for Hannah does not seem to know what to do or how to get it for her and because of that Clay does not really know what to do or where to go next. The next line that breaks my heart is when it goes "I don't know what I'm supposed to do haunted by the ghost of you" because going off of the first line, for Clay it seems like the memory of Hannah will never not be in the back of his mind, and it won't ever not hurt him. We can see this when he is speaking at her service. Although he says "I love you and I let you go", I can speak to the fact that even when you can bring yourself to say those words and even if you truly believe it in the moment, when love like that is so raw and so pure and so real, you can't ever let someone like that go and you really can't let it go when that someone dies under those circumstances. It is very obvious that when Clay listens to his tape that Hannah did like/love him back and that is why I love Tony's character so much because he wanted to anything and everything to stand by Clay because he knew what Clay was about to endure emotionally hearing that part of the tape. Hannah's traumas got in the way of her love for Clay, and unfortunately Clay thought it was his fault and was never truly able to look a little further and see that maybe she was struggling with something deeper. Hearing this song in season 2 was something I really hoped would not happen because it broke me as a man in season 1 as I watched that scene and then it absolutely blew me wide open watching Clay cry on the same dance floor that he once danced with the woman of his dreams. This show really put me in an emotional place and I'm excited to see what season 3 brings.
