To those who says the album is boring and whatnot, you're really entitled to your own opinion. For me the album sort of teleports me to the 70s, sure it's not as upbeat or pop sounding as PH or Melo, but its softer instrumentals are kinda comforting and soothing in a way, kind of what we need in this day and age. And Lorde mentions she creates music that speaks to her, and not for the sake of topping the charts or becoming radio hits. She doesn't have to create music to please the ears of those who don't appreciate change in her music. This is what most of us Lorde fans love about her. And also what a true artiste should be.

i'm a longtime lorde fan as well and the only disappointment i feel is in myself for how much I dislike this album. you can create whatever art you want. But 'great work' is great work and this album just ain't it

I love that Lorde picks a general feeling for her albums and builds an entire experience out of it. This was by no means the album I was expecting, but you know what? I can't not like it. Songs like these seem to demand a second listen, scream "take me apart, piece by piece", they're what keeps me coming back again and again

Right. No, I'd rather understand the cause of the sirens blaring in the beginning than Lorde herself. You know, the sirens she stated were, and I quote, from "a ton of protests that summer." Right here I'm reading this preachy comment about music, this hippy-dippy shit, which was recorded in the midst of people of colour and other disparaged minorities finding themselves met at the heel of police brutality. Actually, my comment above requires a bit more context. What she said was: “We recorded this in a room at Electric Lady with the doors wide open. You can hear the outside coming in. You can hear a lot of sirens because there were a ton of protests that Summer. I like that it sounds like how that Summer sounded.” Because the sounds of violent police oppression are just lovely ambience for her quirky white girl music! :)

I guess I can't really feel the new album because I'm not doing well in life right now and things are still quite messy for me as I transition into becoming an adult. I feel like I'm still stuck in the melodrama phase but hopefully one day, I'll be happy enough to really feel solar power in all its brilliance, it might not be aligned with my music taste as of this moment, though I'm sure I'll get to appreciate it more when I'm in the right phase in life to be really feeling it.

As it fades into end, Summer 2022 will be remembered as a Solar Power Summer to me. Me and my boyfriend saw Ella live in Rome last June and, God, she was magical. This album and era are somewhat peacefully aligned with the pretty f- up 2020s times we’re living and it perfectly fits with the new balances I’m finding in my adulthood after graduating college, getting my first job and experiencing new responsibilities. But I’m peaceful, maybe like I never really was. It’s like all the love, pain, fun and hope of my personal Pure Heroine and Melodrama eras came to terms with the new kind of brightness of my personal Solar Power era. After long searchings I want to stop, lay on the grass, contemplate my conquers, and worship the sun. Thank you so much for this jewel, Ella. 💛

I didnt listen too much to lorde beyond a few of her songs, but I'm really liking this album. Its giving soft 60s/70s love rock vibes. I've been listening to the album while drawing and painting and it's really helps with the visuals.

@@rameznimri3101 i think just like the people within A world alone that lorde and her best friend feel they're different and isolated from "fake people" and these songs from colerate the fake friends and people to the man she talking about now. Growing up shes wittnessing similar people going through these phases of shallowness who are about themselves and not full focused from what I presume im getting. They;re self centered in AWA so in this case the man shes talking about now behaves the same even when shes older. In a way shows even getting older you're going to experience people who either never changed or acts the same to people you experience at a younger age.

I just wanna say that I'm struggling with my depression and this new album is healing me in someway, that's so powerful...Lorde's art is always a cure for my soul and she's just came in the right time to me the sun in my life... I'm just so grateful, it was everything I needed... I have strong panic attacks and anxiety too but this album makes me feel stronger and it gives me peace and relax, it feels like a long meditation session 🌱 So grateful💛

To people saying the album is not good, I think y’all need to chill. U can have ur opinion but like- it’s not that the album is bad, it’s just that your taste is different than people who like it. This album is so different from her other two, so I get why some people don’t like it. But it is pretty good in my opinion. Remember Lorde took 4 years to work so hard on this, don’t be so rude. Also I didn’t like the album at first, but it really grew on me.
