I think they have always been so .. The Tsars before then the Communists then the Federation. For a while we all thought they had thrown the shackles off .. and perhaps for a while they did .. but they never got rid of those shackles .. they just lay there .. waiting to be put back on .. and these Russians .. just knelt down, bowed their heads and let their owners snap the cuffs back on. It takes many generations to change mentality of a mass of people. And they've no concept what freedom means. Also lying, cheatingg, stealing is the norm. In all post communist countries. Including Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, poland, hungary... It's just way worse in Russia, as they never even see anything in the west, and they never had anything approaching democracy

How do we judge these people? I don't know. I would like to imprison every single Russian for 15 years, if he/she ever supported this war only with a single word. On the other hand living in Russia means living in Putler's sect. Some can avoid the brainwashing, the majority can not. I was born in communist East Germany, so I have Nazi history in my family as background and the Soviet Union dominated communist society as my personal background. EVERYONE could by high percentage be exactly the same person as we see them in the videos (e.g. "1420"). How do we judge these people? I don't know.

You are doing a great thing Volodymyr, Ukraine treats their prisoners much better than they deserve to be treated and the whole world knows it. With Russia on the other hand, it hurts to see how poorly they treat the Ukrainian POWS. It has brought tears to my eyes watching Ukrainian POWS returning and seeing the condition that they are in. I have a house with spare rooms, I have been in touch with the Ukraine social club here to advise them I am able to provide food and accommodation for a Ukraine refugee family. I often wonder if the prisoners are speaking in a code when talking with relatives. This guy asked for 3-4 cartons of cigarettes then asked for Primas and later said he wanted them filtered. Why not say that all at once or have his Ukrainian friend simply buy and bring them?

I think this is important work but we need it to be on a large scale. I saw that Ukraine had somehow managed to broadcast one of Zelenskyy’s speeches on Belgorod TV. A video made that showed Putins lies, the destruction etc and interview with Russia’s victims played for a couple of days back to back on all their channels might help them realise that they really are the bad guys. However my attitude that comes from their actions suggests even then they might not care.
