Does the deployment of NB-IoT require hardware to be added at the eNodeB? Or is it just an eNodeB software upgrade? And if you could answer the same questions for LTE-M, that would be useful as well.

No it does not. Both LTEM and NBIOT are software upgrades.

Simply the ARFCN will be different for new NB IoT cells which will listen to IoT devices and will transfer the data. No additional hardware required for the cell site.

Please don't mislead the people, your mentioned data rate as 384KBPS is wrong also your mentioned latency for LTE is wrong. Kindly double check!
