I never really listened to MGK and thought he was just another rapper. Heard he was doing a pop punk album so gave it a listen (retired emo kid at heart) and my goodness, it awakens something in me! So fricking fun and catchy. Just a great homage for pop punk from the past few decades. Well done MGK. You have made a fan in me and thank you for reviving this style of music.

I agree with the other comment, mgk brought back a entire generation of sound, like why not try a style that was popular back then, but with a little bit of 2020 lyrics and visuals added. Hard thing to transition into another genre, and he absolutely killed it. He's at the point where he's just a musician now, not stuck to a specific genre, just a artist and whatever he puts out is dope. Id say he's especially good at this genre though. So good.
