IKR. I think half of these terms were midwest slang. I grew up in Michigan and Indiana and drove around the midwest continually. I knew about 70% of these.

As a fellow Ohioan, let me explain what Sweetest Day is: In the 1920's, a group of candy makers in Cleveland created Sweetest Day and passed out candy to those less than fortunate people: orphans, senior citizens, etc. It was not intended for taking out your sweetheart like Valentine's Day. However, it's origins don't seem to be remembered as everyone treats it like a 2nd Valentine's Day.
