Jack Kilby at Texas Instruments was there first in 1958.

Fair enough but Kilby's integrated circuit could not be manufactured on a large scale; Noyce's could.

No mention of the man, Jack Kilby, who won the Nobel Prize for inventing the integrated circuit. Noyce realized, correctly, that making them with silicone would change everything by reducing size and cost. I wish videos like this took a more nuanced view of inventions. It gives people the impression science that leads to things like this happen can happen by some dude in a garage. When in fact the basic science is usually stumbled upon by pure research and then savvy people spring to profit.

@@naota3k yes give Jack Kilby not only the credit as the inventor of IC, but he probably influenced his junior colleague at TEXAS INSTRUMENT who is now the CEO of TSMC - the world most valuable company ( pretty much all those Amazon Google Microsoft and everybody else depend on ) and current leader in semiconductor manufacturing and design - even as of today in 2021, TI calculators are still popular among high school students
@isakwilkinson2491

My father Richard Wilkinson work for Intel in The 1980s he's a designer of semiconductors he holds many US patents along with other people in his team. Bob noyce hopefully I spelled his name correctly. Another is like him to help shape our world today. My father told me that there was only 20 people in the world that did what he did on that level but semiconductor designing. But he told me this back in the '80s I just think now that there's probably a lot more people in the world that do the same thing now. But without the Intel semiconductor I wouldn't have the cool knowledge of electronics that I have today. Would be like still doing vacuum tubes. So I like to thank all those pioneers who ventured out to design something different and better for our world

Around the 1:00 mark i felt the impression that you were stating Bob Noyce invented the IC. He helped realize the monolothic IC. Jack Kilby invented the IC. Holds the patent. Just felt that needed stating.
@tennissport4318
@tennissport4318 3 роки тому
yes that was the impression I got too. Jack Kilby from Texas Instrument was the inventor of IC. By the way in addition to hardware, Texas Instrument was already a leader in the computer aid software industry by 1990 or earlier - Intel / Fairchild etc are not as diversified as Texas Instrument
@tennissport4318
@tennissport4318 3 роки тому
sorry that may not be totally accurate - seems a German and a Brit came up with the idea first but Jack was the first one to create the hybrid IC ( not sure if Jack also thought of the idea himself or leveraged off that idea but he made it a reality )

It is said that the integrated circuit was FOUND and redesigned as first found in broken control panel inside the ET craft that CRASHED IN 1947. The section contained what we now call opto sensors, and glass fibers as data conduits of frequencies. A piece magnified with microscope revealed multi stages with "transistors". See American Computer Company and book- The Day After Roswell. Modern technology owed to ETs? Even the see in the dark and Kevlar vests, etc.

The man had a 5 second speech and thats when you choose to put your AD in. That's bogus and definitely disrespectful especially of you're trying to pay homage to him. You put an ad through the narrators breaks or his speech, not the person who you're showcasing and imprinting with. I definitely know that either nobody tried to keep it from happening and that kind of stuff bothers me when I'm watching different things. Just a thought from an observer, but who am I anyway right? Good video though and the reason why I guess it did that was because the video was earning my view with how much work I can see that was put into it, and the story is a great 1 and definitely something not only most electronics enthusiasts would want to see, but now days more and more people are asking questions like this about what or who or how this or that was made and the processes to do it, and so on and so forth. But yea it was definitely like wow, he had a 5 second speech and they didn't even try to let it hit a homerun by letting his speech be uninterrupted, then that happened and I noticed it and I feel it's best we all share opinions about how we could each improve our projects and refine methods that keep people entertained but also take in to consideration aspects like this for example that could throw off a viewer/potential subscriber from the program, although I don't feel that it was so bad I do feel like I have to share that with you just so you have the input because who knows it may be of some value to know what people think. I look forward to more videos and you're doing a great job. Keep it up!

It's not possible for the entire world to live like we do in the west. Our carbon footprint is enormous and spreading our lifestyle across the planet would be detrimental to life as we know it. So again, are you willing to give up nearly everything that makes your life comfortable so that your comment means anything?
