It's really not, this is a made-up story. Here's a tip, look up her name and filter out all results of 2023, you'll see that no such person ever existed! If such a story was real, her death would have led to a real international conflict, since she was a foreign subject. Much more shocking than the crime is the fact that the culprit never paid for what he did. Which is dreadfully common when said culprits are white and their victims are women/non-white people.

Sadly true. My heart sank too when I saw her going alone to confront the guy. She didn't even open her mouth to berate him but, in the end, it wouldn't have mattered. The fact that she was better than him was "provocation" enough. We are in the 21st century, yet this cultural thing our mothers/grandmothers taught us about fearing men and bowing to their wishes lest we want violence to ensue is still painfully accurate even a century later.
