This is a surprisingly easy DIY project, that you might be able to make for free if you have some epoxy left over from an old project. I took some old cedar fence panels, burned them with propane torch, then covered with epoxy. What I got was a pretty cool 3D wood and epoxy coaster unlike any I had seen before. Hope you like it, let me know if you have any questions!

1:44 you left a control subject and proved the need for bubble popping. Very scientific. 4:20 We watch these because you talk fast. So many crafters make us watch extended/repetitive actions while droning on. This was a perfect execution and I want these coasters!

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ukposts.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

DUDE! Those would make fantastic wall tiles! Maybe not for a shower but for smaller areas like back splashes or other decorative applications in a black color scheme. That depth of finish is awesome!

One thing that might be neat is after you do the first epoxy pour... Going back with a cnc router and v bit and engraving some design and doing a different colored epoxy inlay and then sanding smooth and sealing with the epoxy top coat

A next step might be to make small shelf using a knotty/cracked/knackered piece of hard wood (I used left over/rotting oak planks) - you can practice sealing the knots/cracks, then filling with small amounts of epoxy (coloured if you want), then flattening/sanding/finishing. If you have some big cracks you can double up and practice a few bowties as well :) - ukposts.info/have/v-deo/ooiKoa6um4FqwGg.html

Around a wood stove, you could selectively use orange, yellow, and maybe white metallic paint over the char...then clear coat. For a 3d sort of burning embers effect. It would look like the stove had, and was in process of...burning a hole in the wall behind it lol. I know they have high heat resins...but I don't know how clear they pour.

This is my first exposure to your channel and I gotta say, I love the fact that you talk fast! You’re the channel I’ve been looking for! I usually need just a quick refresher on a technique, or want to know how other people tackle the problem of X when Y comes up, etc, but MOST craft/woodworking videos are made like they’re presenting for television. They breakdown what’s going to happen (instead of, idk, just *starting* ), repeat themselves and the steps they did, take tons of breaks away from the action just to give themselves screen time and act as a “host,” or generally take way too long to just get to the point. I love the fact that you show one thing while talking about another thing and trust your audience to follow along. At the very least you seem to be aware that we all use the “rewind 10 sec” button a lot, which means there’s no need to dwell on anything for a long time. Just leave it on screen long enough for us to catch it and move on. We can (and DO) rewatch the parts we need to see, so why waste time with anything else? I subscribed instantly. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your approach to making videos (I hope this one wasn’t a one-off, lol). Thanks for a great video, and I’ll be checking out your other videos soon!

I have watched this video a bunch of times and I am going to do this in the house that I am building. I think this would be a really cool tile backsplash in my kitchen. Thinking square them off and then slightly round them over, and then follow it up by finishing the edges and back with some lacquer or something for waterproofing since it will be in a kitchen. Would love to see the master try this and see what results you get, even if it is on a small mockup piece.

Love watching these! Due to move into our new house soon that has a large double garage I’m trying to learn as much from you as possible before we move in so I can start my own work. Just don’t have the space right now unfortunately. I’ll start small with coasters and work my way up I think. Need to find somewhere over here in the uk that sells some nice bits of wood. 👍🏻
