Peter Thiel is a Silicon Valley founder and investor, and quite a successful one at that: he co-founded PayPal, was an early investor in Facebook, and started and serves as the chair of Palantir. Lately, Thiel has become more active in politics. He supported President Trump in the 2016 election and has been a force in several House and Senate races in the 2020 cycle.
In this wide-ranging conversation, Thiel discusses his politics, his campaign, and the scourge of totalitarian conformism in the United States and abroad; the problem with “following the science”; where President Biden deserves the blame and where he doesn’t; and why cryptocurrency may just save the world.

Thank you for this brilliant interview. Mr. Thiel's observations regarding the effective muzzling of dissent hit home. The level of critical thought has almost evaporated in this country, and a weird tribal proxy is in its place. It's creepy.

My personal favorite element of the narrative in Afghanistan doesn't work issue is the fact that we were trying to push hard to have female judges there but, we had to tolerate the rape of children in order to "respect their culture."

Such a clear thinker. The sadness is that what Peter Thiel is saying was what constituted civil society and common sense pre-2010. Of course the Fed will ignore inflation - they can't afford the interest rates on the record government debt levels. Expect inflation to flow, nominal rates to remain low (if not go negative). We are in prime financial repression territory; people keep saying 1970s, but it looks more like the 1940s from where I'm sitting.

Wow, awesome perspectives! I finally truly understand the "madness of crowds'. Being one with an auditory processing disorder, Personal experiences have caught me alone from the crowd in many situations. Example~ US AF basic training, our flight given instructions by the training instructer found 49 lost, myself alone at the goalpost. Respectfully, the segment on the bond market was pathetic. The US is in a 41 year long bond bull market -- the longest in history. A bond bull market is DEFLATIONARY. Few are aware the Great Depression was a bond bull market, and the Depression didn't end until the bond bull was over. The FED is not fighting inflation; it has not been fighting inflation for decades! The FED -- and other CBs around the world -- are struggling to avoid the maw of hyperdeflation.
