I was thinking the very same thing it's really sad that Awsome creators are kinda put on a time limit to create something and then some think it's OK to criticize everything from time to concept. I luv this and alot more creative channels and it seems there is toxic behaviour pushed onto and around really cool creators who are just decent peeps doing what they luv and luckily for us sharing that process...

This guy’s videos are hard to watch because he feels the need to show his face in closeup for 3/4 of the video. A lot of youtubers do that- they don’t realize the camera turns the other way too. There are some tubers that I have never seen. They make fantastic videos, and I have no idea what they look like. Too much of the face, I say.

I love the look of this, but maybe instead of clear resin as the base, some dark purple/blue resin, mixed with glitter, would allow for better blending between the body and the shards. Clear resin on the outside was definitely the way to go though.

It's interesting how the resin interacted with the disks themselves after curing. I wonder if there would be a way to paint a thinner layer over them before a thicker layer to try and prevent a little of that odd look that happened. Really pretty overall though.

The “odd” look was the resin filling in the micro-texture that contributes the rainbow effect because of refracted light.
@RyuRaeArashi
@RyuRaeArashi 2 роки тому
@@codename495 Yea I gathered it was something along those lines, though I was thinking the heat produced by the curing process could have contributed to how far into the pieces the resin sank by warping the plastic covers. It looks amazing! Like other comments, I love the mother of pearl-like look it gives off. I’ve recently begun my own journey in resin casting and even more recently discovered your channel. I’ve binge watched quite a few and though I don’t have a lathe… yet 😉, you have given me inspiration for a few projects I’d like to give a go at! Thx Nick!

I have some holographic foil I got from my local dollar store that does really well in resin... That could be a lot of fun for something like this too! That guitar is stunning, and I love the way the bits changed in the resin...it gives it so much character!

The little “oh” in your intro might be my favourite sound in the world, it always makes me smile.

Awesome. Told hubby I was in love with your voice. He said he is too and that I’d think your looks were easy on the eye as well. I used dvds to make a mosaic table top once so I know how this probably looks. As a guitar it has to be epic! Very well done. And, Dude, you made me ring your bell!

Brilliant Nick. Loved the video too. Refreshing to see others get similar problems mid-project. Thanks for sharing all that. Jan W
