Nintendo has always been experimenting with what they call here as "Mixed Reality", i really think that its the future of videogame companies, not consoles becoming more and more similar to a PC, the future is taking the game as closest to the real world through meaningful interactions. DS, Wii, Wii Fit, 3DS, Wii U, amiibo, Labo and Ring Fit have been pretty good examples of this, yet none of those have realized their full potential, specially Wii U, but i also think that it has to do with how new this "Mixed Reality" thing still feels, there's a lot to do when fiction crosses reality, so i'm glad that this new idea exists, i can see this concept being used for more than just Mario Kart, but even on Mario Kart itself there can be a ton of ideas that people will realize and explore. I give less than a day after this releases that people will be making ramps that end with interesting results for the Karts.

I study computer science at uni and have done a little bit with robot pathfinding with a camera input etc. Not a lot, no, but enough to get a good grade out of it. I am completely stunned at the technology behind this. Not only how the race track stays firmly where you want it to, but also how the cpus, as augmented, virtual characters, smoothly move around said track, and how the game is aware enough of the player characters position on it to engage autopilot *on an imaginary track* is simply incredible. I almost feel obligated to get this game even though I probably won’t have any time or space to play it!

Things that determine this products success- How large can a course be? Can you go up ramps? Can you go under something? Can you leave the room? Can you get more sensors and add to your existing ones to make a large course? Will it be cheaper then 60 dollars?

Couple of questions about the project, though I doubt I’ll get any official answers. 1. Can you use various types of flooring like carpet? 2. How does the mixed reality interact with slopes? 3. About how long do the karts hold their charge when playing? 4. What is the range for the karts, how far away can they get from the switch?
