I was a moderate but after the last four years and the way Mitch “Droopy” McConnell pretty much obstructed every single policy Obama tried to pass to include the stonewalling of Judge Garland is kind of funny if it wasn’t resulting in the disintegration of the United States. No matter President Obama’s fault he wasn’t a Russian puppet and didn’t hire half his family to run our government can you say nepotism? Lastly, the recent events that took place at the capital are indefensible but again GOP hypocrites are downplaying it...can you imagine if that happen if President Obama didn’t win re-election in 2012? Sick of republicans and their fake patriotism and bullshit policies such as trickle down economics...which don’t work...

And, as you probably know, Colbert didn't even hit the real highlight of the Georgia law, which is that the state election commission can replace the election commissioners in any county where the vote doesn't go the way they like it, AND the state legislature now names most of the members of the state election commission. So basically, if you vote the way the state legislature doesn't want you to, there will be trouble for your county. It's a horrific law.

At this point I think they're so terrified about their odds of ever winning a free & fair election that they don't care about the democracy. They would rather burn it all down than lose control, and it's quite possible that those are the only two options. I mean, they could bend and become more inclusive and nicer, but I don't think the leaders are capable of that, and anyway they've lead their followers so far down this terrible road that they probably couldn't lead them back toward sanity if they wanted to.

Which is why I am so confused as to why he is so upset. These companies only made a decision based on their bottom line. The majority came out and threatened a boycott, so these companies did what was better for their bottom line and sided with the majority. Rightwingers love them some capitalism so much that they don't realize it is rife for tyranny. We have more buying power. Companies will bend the knee to us 100% of the time. I know more than enough about poverty, and although now, in my sixties, I am finally in a place where I can pay the bills, heat the tiny bungalow, buy decent food and clothes, it's taken my entire adult life, and I'll never get past the fear of not having enough for my needs. Yes, some people are naturally gifted, but research shows more and more that singing is like any other feat, practice and nurture it early on and you can get better. Ignore it, especially before and through adolescence, and it will be infinitely more difficult to develop it later.
