A 20 year old game Yet still a better atmostphere and gameplay than modern AAA firstperson nowadays

I used to play this with my father. Ahhh good times, Peaceful times. This game is a part of my childhood, the game is somehow calming to play in 2023. I used hella scared when doggos tried to attack me. I wish I could go back.

Hmm...how simple my life was back when this first came out.

I started PC gaming in 1982 and I can tell you there are clear moments in the last 40 years where the gaming landscape took a giant shift forward. This game is one of those moments.

Incredible to see that 2002 game had the destruction physics and those barrel holes leaking oil. We really need a remastered game in 2020-2021 !!! EA listen to us !!!

The timing of this game release was perfect. Saving Private Ryan came out a few years prior and I was shocked how they captured the sound effects and ambiance of that film.

Wow watching this I remember everything with perfect recall. Every enemy placement every twist and turn and story beat is hardwired in my brain. Love it

Amazing soundtrack When I got to meet the composer Michael Giacchino of all his works I complimented him on this the most. This was 2010 so he had a lot of work under his belt

All the guns feel and sound so good. The MP40 shakes the screen when you shoot but the MG42 does not (because its mounted). The crosshair is always the same and stays nice and tight regardless of weapon. When you are getting shot at you see the flash and hear the loud whiz of the incoming rounds. The enemies actually flinch and stumble when you hit them and you can see little puffs of vapor where the rounds strike them (makes your shots feel hefty). Not to mention their death animations are perfectly dramatic and almost always unique. Your team actually aims at doors and windows while moving even if there are no enemies visible there. They also move between cover and call out to each other and even to you. The soundtrack is Hollywood movie worthy, somewhere between Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Saving Private Ryan. How can you not love this??

This is one of my favourite FPSs of all time. It was absolutely seismic when it was first released and I don't think it's really been too well matched ever since in terms of atmosphere and general feeling. The other WWII MoH games and both CoD and CoD2 are the only ones that hold a candle to this.

Man the sound on this game was great. I remember, I could feel the kickback from the guns in my bones! Especially the M1

20:11 Forgot to mention this but here is an interesting fact regarding the Jack Grillo character: The character Jack Grillo is named after the Lead Sound Designer for MOH:AA, who is also named Jack Grillo. Jack Grillo along with other members of 2015 Inc and EA LA would later go on to the develop the Call of Duty series, and Jack Grillo would be the additional sound designer for the first COD game (and possibly it's expansion United Offensive as well in terms of sounds being borrowed from the first game).

My dad installed Allied Assault on my PC when i was way younger, he told me it was a game he played when he was about 20. I loved it, but since then, Windows was completely reinstalled on my PC. It was lost, and i only started searching for it now. I have just found out it was Allied Assault because of this video, if this video hadn't existed, i probably wouldn't have gotten some really amazing memories back. In case you're curious, the demo version of this contained the "Battle of the Bocage" map/level called "The Nebelwefer Hunt" (2:11:26). Since the last FPS I had played was Doom 2, I knew right then I had fallen in love.

I was able to play it by chance during my childhood. It's such a wonderful piece, then and now.

This how I remembered this game playing as a 14 years old kid my first FPS shooter ww2 I got introduced for decades I dreamed to play this game again!

Honestly the fun of this era was in the video gamey movement. Modern games are more realistic but they sacrifice what made these games fun to play. I have tried to play recent FPS campaigns and something always feels missing and I think that's it.

Here it is, the game of my childhood, even the musical support is still familiar to me.

God the first level of this game gave me so much anxiety as a kid, something about those Nazi's with the face wraps and goggles scared the crap outta me... good timess.

Сейчас мне 24 и я наконец прошел все классические части medal of Honor, allied assault высадка в нормандии… в детстве мне казалось это так реалистично, пулемет который убивает за секунду, а потом я понял что это калька на спасти рядового Райна. Ещё мне понравилась снайперская миссия в городе, когда идет дождь, очень атмосферно… Spearhead тоже в нормандии, но уже в стиле вдв из самолета, на манер американщины airborne, блин это капец как эпично! До сих пор кат сцены смотрятся потрясающе, а это учитывая что игре 22 года, вот что значит качество!! Геймплей конечно это коридорный шутер, но что вы ожидаете от игры 20 летней давности, это были первопроходцы в мире 3D шутеров. Длс Breakthrough тоже отличное, ещё больше вниманию катсценам, теперь они мне напомнили вовсе поздние call of duty, начало так вообще очень похоже на миссию из black ops во вьетнаме, когда едешь на джипе и идет диалог. Можно управлять танком прямо в одной миссии, а это между прочим battlefield) В общем медаль за отвагу это реально прародитель всех 3D шутеров. Call of duty, battlefield, все они что-то подчерпнули из серии медали за отвагу, а саундтрек? Саундтрек реально крутой, завораживает с первых нот, а когда я нашел это пианино на котором можно поиграть! У меня слеза прокатилась! Сейчас так не делают, время прошло, но творения (а эта игра именно что классика уже) живут и будут жить!

I was just watching Saving Private Ryan (that predates this game by 3 years) and it's amazing how the game is based on the movie. In the game you're hiding behind Czech hedgehogs just like Tom Hanks and company in the movie. You end up (if you survive) at a embankment on the beach, the same as in the movie. You are situated at the exact same spot as in the movie. Tom Hanks mentions needing a bangalore just like in the PC game. You end up at the same place (the base of a pillbox). It's unreal watching the movie (for maybe the 3rd time since 1998) after playing this game countless times in the same time... I mean I remember the PC game way better than the movie "Saving Private Ryan" but watching that is just reminding me of the PC game. It's not just similar at the start, it's exactly the same as this game.

This game was so amazing, when it came out. I used to play this all the time, back in the 80s.

If had the choice to play this or the new Call of Duty I would choose this any day of the week.

2nd last stage of this game is very difficult as compare to omha beach you have to close the security alarm and whenever you close it it turns on again and there is a small room you have to out from the windo but the forces of enemy comes through there that was the most difficult but smallest task about 200 to 300 yards area if you close the alarm the enemy wont enter but it will turn on after 50 to 10 seconds and you will be alone and there will be no companion of you either in this task you do not have to escape your companions or free them from enemy encounter either
