I feel like the ‘I wish not to be perceived’ line, along with her new look (that completely covers up her real face and body), and the removal of all her old posts on social media are all connected. She’s taking back herself and keeping it private, and I really appreciate that. The constant spotlight and judgement that was put on her and the lack of privacy must’ve been difficult to deal with

“Better off dead than stuck in a maze, the centre may seem like a gift. Once you arrive it’ll strip you of your life, and you’ll wish that you never did.” Is such a great line. That’s something I love about Melanie, one simple line can have so much depth and meaning to it.

SPIDER WEB makes my brain so satisfied. It sounds so beautiful and majestic, but the meaning is still so deep and relatable. In this song, Melanie sings about what it’s like to be addicted to the internet. She sings about how toxics the internet is, hence the lines “I’m hiding myself from the enemy, I wish to not be perceived”. Melanie compares the toxic people who are addicted to the internet to a spider who traps people inside the web of the internet. Can’t wait to learn the choreography for this one!! 🕸️🕷️

I feel like this song is about her experience as a famous person. She’s thinking about spiders and webs, which could be a metaphor for the World Wide Web. I think she’s thinking about how she really wanted to be discovered and worked really hard to get her self all over the web but then she realized that she didn’t want to be out there like that anymore and that it was dangerous. She wishes that she could undo it, but she can’t really do anything about it since she’s all over the web now. That could be why her new outfit completely covers up her body and makes her look like a new person because that’s the best that she could do to still do what she loves, and not be as “visible” and out there.

It’s a song about internet addiction and how it’s fun, however, it can destroy someone’s identity, and mental health. It can be a escape, but it can make you worse than when you came in. It looks interesting, but once your stuck you can never leave. The “web” is literally and metaphorically a analogy for the internet and it’s creepiest corners that no one should be able to tread.
