@Nathan Smith There is a balance! Being their parent always teaching rigjt from wrong not being their friend but also still listening to them and letting them be an individual. They shouldn't be afraid to come to a parent and say I'm feeling this way but I don't understand why. When we were kids we didn't understand how to process these feelings. Yes this, I’ve gotten into arguments with my no good of a father (context: estranged to me/abusive and used to be out of our lives for us older siblings) just because I tell my younger brother he doesn’t have to be alone and “tough it out”.
