I feel like so many of the outfits this year were rejects from last year's Catholocism theme. An overabundance of gold and silver metallic looks. A lot of embroidered sequins. A ton of headpieces and almost armored mail type cap situations. Just really sad.

So, a little friendly pop-culture reference that might make you appreciate Lena Waithe's attire a bit more. The statement at the back, is a cross-over reference, to Pink Floyds iconic (musically and aesthetically) album "The wall" (the lettering is the exact same, unique one that they use in that album), with the, also iconic, green t shirt that Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon wore quite a few times in photoshoots and live shows, stating "Girls invented punk rock not England". These two quotes carry a heavy cultural meaning for underground scenes of the 80's and 90's eras respectively, you might wanna research that, so yeah, even if you don't agree with the stament, it's a camp ass clever move.

I do think that refusing to come in Drag IS campy. He took an art form and really revolutionized it, and then sticks a middle figure up to everyone who thinks they have the rights to it. Like obviously, a drag queen coming in full drag is easy to make campy. But he said nope 😂

It's connections. She knows a lot of people in the industry and is very friendly, so people invite her for her social skills to ease the conversations between guests. It's a tactic. Anna Wintour said she invites talk show hosts to the Met because they know a lot of celebrities, they become a tool.. a conversation starter in the table they were seated at, which helps guests to feel comfortable to see someone they've worked with. Rita Ora is the same, she knows so many celebrities so they invite her to their events for her welcoming personality.

Thank you for explaining the essence of Gaga’s outfit. I feel like a lot of people didn’t understand because they thought it was simple but it was more than that. That red carpet performance showed that she doesn’t need to wear camp to be camp because camp is just who she is, and she can wear a simple dress but still exude camp in the over the top and extra way that she always has been.

Felt like she really could've WENT there but maybe she had to tone it down since the whole Met Gala was pretty much toned down enough as it was...
