I used to drink Coke in every meal plus some for refresment until I got my kidneys sick, nothing serious but man, the pain was so annoying and ever present that make me quit that stuff. Coke is rooted in Mexican culture, a glass of coke with ice is the first choice in the hot days of summer instead of a glass of water, even in the big cities where water is not an issue.

A lot of things can be blamed. Having traveled a bit in Mexico and currently traveling around here at the moment I think the main issue is the lack of education in rural areas and the fact that sugar is highly addictive. When you can choose between buying tasteless, boring water and a flavorful soda it's very easy to pick the last option, especially if you have to put in a bigger effort to find water since soda is so easily available. Edit: I just finished the video and the lady at 12:39 is a perfect example of the ignorance that is killing all these people. Also the fact that they drink soft drinks at the funeral of someone who died of diabetes is really sad to see. Firstly, the coffine in coca cola makes NO DIFFERECE WHATSOEVER for the healthyness of sprite and coce in comparision. There is only an extreme low amount of coffine in coca cola. 8mg per 100ml! 8 mg! A coffe contains 50 mg per 100ml. And even coffee is healthy and everybody should 8 cops of it every day. And even if you drink 3 cans of it every day its still healthy. and even if it would not be even healthy, it would have had no relevance whatsoever in comparision to the effect of the extreme amount of sugar in sprite and cola. And that you talk about the addictiveness of coffeine, is the most absurd thing of all. The addictiveness of coffeine is in comparision to any other addictive stuff we know, nearly not existing. Even after 10 yeras of 3 cans of coffee. And even if it would be addictive, what is not the case in any relevant sense of the world ! it is great, because coffeine is eitherway healthy and so it makes you drink healthy drinks more often. (by the way sugar is also 100 times more addictive than coffeine xd) And even if it would be addictive (nearly not the case) and unhealthy (opposite is true), it wouldnt matter in the slightest in comparision to the effects of 11 g suger per 100 ml. to even think about the effects of 8 mg coffeine per 100ml cola as an argument for sprite is better than cola, is laughtable and stunning people today know NOTHING about what they consume their hole day, how is that possible to be so IGNORANT about soft drinks.
