Imagine a place as beautiful as the Shire surrounded by forests and mountains full of terrifying creatures. Damn man this is so cool

just think these are 3rd age monsters. weak compared to the monsters in the 1st age. you had dragons bigger than mountains. not to mention legions of balrogs.

Beleriand wasn’t destroyed by Illuvatar; it was destroyed in the War of Wrath, in the last battle against Morgoth.
@am-shakРік тому
It’s hard to imagine even the most powerful Elves being capable of “drowning” Beleriand, including its mountains. This war, after all, occurred over a thousand years before the Elves of Eregion made the Rings of Power so they had no great artifacts that might have enhanced their power

4:38 that's not a picture of a mountain troll, it's an Olog-Hai. Mountain trolls are much bigger. Also there is a mistake in the hobbit movie saying that the three trolls that wanted to eat dwarves are mountain trolls and that was wrong in the movie because they are stone trolls.
@michaelpalerino5276Рік тому
You left out Crebain? The Barrow Wights? The Dead Men of Dunharrow (which are in the movie) the Huorns (which are in the movie)? The Pukel Men (not the Druadain but the woodcarving statues that can come to life? The corpse candles or ghosts of the dead marshes (shown in the film)? The werewolves and vampires of The Isle of Werewolves. Old Man Willow (which may be a huorn)?
@jackalope_hunterРік тому
What exactly is old man willow? Just a rogue huorn? I forget if in the books it's ever stated. Also, another thing to add to your list could be the nameless things. However, there'd be no picture to accompany it. In fact, that's probably for the best.. pictures could give them power..
@langskeppet9887Рік тому
@@jackalope_hunter he’s a great willow tree in the forests outside of the shire (don’t remember name)

@@langskeppet9887 In the books wereworms are most likely a legend in hobbit folklore, only briefly mentioned by Bilbo in the first chapter of the hobbit. Glaurung was evil's MVP. His mindfuck games were epic, and caused multiple suicides. He could have just slain the heroes that went against him, but he preferred to torment them, trick them, and in the end drive them to take their own lives. Badass evil dragon.
@thekillers1stfanРік тому
Nah Sauron takes it easily. He killed Finrod Felagund, ravaged the early kingdoms of men, demolished Mordor, and then when he got caught, he manipulated his way into a leadership position and got fucking NUMENOR sunk. And that's before we even talk about the Ring
@brendandrislane4560Рік тому
@@thekillers1stfan Fealgund and a werewolf both slew each other in Sauron's dungeon. I don't know if I'd give that kill to Sauron. The werewolf deserves some credit. @thekillers1stfanРік тому
@@brendandrislane4560 Nah, Good's mvp has to be Luthien. She straight up got Huan to abandon his owner with a little sob story, cleansed Sauron's base of operations (making Sauron himself tuck tail and run), waltzed into Angband, put Morgoth himself to sleep, robbed his ass, and got away with it.
@jarlwilliam9932Рік тому
@@brendandrislane4560 Eh the Dwarf king made Glaurang run for fear of his life during the battle of unnumbered tears, the dwarves then routed the dragon and his children off the field of battle before picking their dead king up into a funeral procession and just walking off the battlefield with no force of Morgoth willing to challenge them again. Give the dwarves some credit, they where the best weapon and armor smiths bar none in the first age, and could withstand dragon and balrog fire where humans and elves died to it. So, the sea serpents aren't mentioned in the books but you say that because they are in rings of power they can be considered canon?!!! Oh and yes there are serpents on some maps of Middle earth but this was a convention in early map drawing to decorate the edges with weird and wonderful creatures - it was never meant to be taken literally!
@rafexrafexowski4754Рік тому
It's actually mentioned in Tolkien's linguistic writings that the elves had a word for a sea-serpent, so it's possible that they are canon
