As a father of daughters, she made me feel the full range of paternal emotion. Pride and awe at her talent, deep sadness at her pain, and the primal urge to destroy the bullies that hurt her. Who would want to harm such a gentle and beautiful soul?

When you're not used to people showing kindness, and someone shows you even small and "insignificant" shreds of kindness, it truly breaks you in the most wonderful way. 💛

She has two friends weeping for her. She’s ahead of most of us…

What a beautiful, pure voice, she just doesn’t even realize how great she is!

Wow! I'm a 47 yr old mom, sitting here bawling. It's so heartbreaking that she was so bullied, and has no idea how good she is, how special she is. I'm so so so glad that she got on stage and took a chance... that is a huge move for someone who is not surprised they turned around... but incredibly shocked, and for all of them to turn. Regardless of if she made/makes it, just the reaction of the judges, and the thousands in the stands should be a huge validation for her, the bullies were jealous. You can't teach that talent, but it can be silenced or nurtured... and I'm so glad she chose Delta. She is like a big sister who will be extremely thoughtful and gentle with her support, pushing Mikayla to shine! I love it and I loved her original. It got me, at same place Joe reacted...

Gosh she is so incredibly sweet! Her pain transported so much through her singing and was very captivating as everyone can actually relate in some way. Her original song is brilliant! I hope the world hears more from her in the future.
