So grossed out by the UFC and their shit, per usual. Ariel Helwani, like him or not, is the absolute best and one of the only true, real reporters in this sport. I will not only not pay for ANYTHING UFC related until this is fixed, but I'll also be teaching every MMA fan I know how to torrent their PPV's and fight nights from now on, as well as reddit/r/MMA.

Really appreciate the platform you gave Ariel here. He deserves to be treated a lot better by the UFC. Like he said, they want the MMA journalists to be additional promoters of their company, which is crazy. I can't understand how something like that is possible. I love the sport, I love the UFC and I think Dana White is a great head of the organisation. But there are things like handling the media which is done terribly by the UFC. It has to change and you supporting Ariel is definetly helping in some way.

What is ironic is the fact that among many other things Ariel Helwani was practically a fantastic promoter for MMA in general and in particular for the UFC through his considerable body of quality work from his modest beginnings back in the day with his own UKposts channel all the way to now. Frankly, the UFC made an emotional decision, which is ALWAYS a bad thing. Now they had to eat their words. Dana: 'Helwani will not be credentialed as long as I am here'. Less than 24 hours later the ban has been lifted. Honestly, I do think, though, that Dana really was just the bad cop acting on behalf of Lorenzo Fertitta.

I'm not a fan and not defending him in particular, but I def thought the Ariel Helwani lifetime UFC ban was too much. He was simply doing what journalists want to do, report big news and the first to report..Must be nice to be making a good living doing something that is more like a lifestyle and not job-like, and being something he loves to do. God for him tho.

Dana and the UFC are turning off so many people with the way they treat some fighters, and now a great journalist. I know some people who are quietly boycotting them by not purchasing any pay-per-views of UFC events. I got interested in the UFC thanks to the exploits of Holly Holm, a great fighter but also a wonderfully sweet human being. The way she was treated by UFC even after she became world champion, as well as the way her gym is treated and criticized by Dana, was a huge turnoff. First people need to be sold on you before they get sold on your product. The UFC is doing a terrible job on the first job, though they have a very good product. It's a shame. Their missteps are not hurting them terribly (though they could be even bigger without them) as they are the leader in the sport. What it is doing is leaving the door open for their competitors.

Ah, the power struggle. I've always followed and supported the UFC. Even the Reebok deal not being great I still tried to understand their side. This is sad and pathetic how they've treated Ariel Helwani. He is perhaps the best journalist out there and has helped a great deal on selling the sport and fighters. On the flipside, Ariel has always been a love hate guy even with fighters causing drama so perhaps it's been building for a while and this is the icing on the cake.
