Orlovsky has bad judgement. Stepped out of the back of the end zone again. McCarthy is the worst quarterback in the first round. Drafting McCarthy is a huge mistake!

Rich Eisen is one of the absolute worst interviewers I’ve ever heard. First of all, he came terribly unprepared… Spencer wasn’t even in last year’s championship team. Second of all, he almost comes-off making fun of Spencer. How many times does he have to repeat his first name? This is a CRINGEWORTHY interview and it’s all because of Eisen’s awful, awful interviewing skills. Wow!

NFL fans really need to watch college football. Both Xavier picks were strange to a lot of us that love college football. They are both physically gifted, but the skills are really rough. I was thinking both would go mid second round. Honestly they both struggle technically for completely opposite reasons. Worthy cannot handle physicality that well and he hasn’t quite figured out how to overcome his hand size. I know Devonta Smith is undersized, but he seemed pound for pound way stronger than Worthy. Legette seems to just give up on his routs and settle for bullying his way through a contest. Go watch any game where he’s playing a nfl sized CB and you can seem him struggling to get open. I’m still amazed 2 teams traded up for projects.

Great points by Ian! He’s making points that Rich is incapable of understanding. Rich just isn’t smart enough to understand what’s happening here. Ian makes a great point by saying that when the Packers drafted Love it motivated Rodgers to have back to back MVP seasons. They were the #1 seed the next year when they drafted Love. Again, it’s very simple. Amazing that Rich has spent this much time on this and still can’t figure it out. It’s not very difficult

@matthewkerber83153 години тому
Not sure why Rich can’t understand this. It’s very simple. Having Pennix will push Cousins to play excellent because he knows Pennix will start if he does not play excellent. Pennix comes in year 3 and has 3 years left on his cheap rookie deal. Look at how it worked out with Love sitting behind Rodgers for a few years. Brilliant move. Again, this is very simple. Takes about 30 seconds to figure it out Rich. Come on!

Arch starts by the time UT begins SEC conference play or he's in the portal for '25.

I dont get the head scratcher narrative. Kirk is coming off a devastating achilles rupture, and he's not young. Im a Texans fan, so i dont have a dog in the fight, but they get a young QB who can sit behind a vet the same way Rodgers and even Mahomes had to sit a year.

Klatt rationale is correct however we don’t know the Falcons big board and it was pretty clear drafting a defender that early wasn’t an option for any team in the Top 10 We don’t know if the Falcons attempted to trade down and simply didn’t find fair value on trade I thought they were gonna take Odunze and add another weapon for Kirk. I do understand the pick you can always find weapons in a draft more and more athletes are playing WR/TE and not tailback or DB. If you’re in position to take a franchise QB you do it. Once upon a time Kirk was drafted after RG3 he should know how this insurance policy works

Speaking as a Steelers fan, if you have a talent you think is that good fall to you, you get them. The Steelers passed on Marino because they had Bradshaw only to see him retire a few years later, and it took forever to fill that hole. They failed to find an heir apparent for Ben before he retired, and most of the talking heads have criticized them for that. If you think this guy is going to be that good in the future, and he can learn behind a good QB like Cousins, when else will you get someone like that?

Weren’t the Falcons 7-9 last year? I don’t think they even had a quarterback on the roster last year. Maybe they think adding Cousins is going to put them in the playoffs and out of contention for a possible generational QB in future drafts. Maybe they thought Penix is going to be that all timer and had to go for it. That’s a lot of maybes, but looking back I bet a lot of teams would have drafted Mahomes even if they already had a QB if he was available.
@Littleofthisandthatt4 години тому
They took Penix because they are about to lose a boatload of picks next year lol

I can't for the life of my understand why people think this pick was dumb. I'm not a Falcons fan, but I totally get why they did it. Kirk Cousins is Kirk Cousins. He's not going to last long, and the injury may mess with him. Penix isn't ready to start. Cousins can help them win until Penix is ready, and with Cousins they're probably not going to pick that high again. Penix will seamlessly take over, much like Aaron Rodgers did for Favre.

The nice thing for Texas is that Arch just turned 19, meaning there isn't any particular rush to get him to the NFL. He could start in '25 and if he doesn't look like a number 1 pick then they still get him starting in '26 and he still goes to the NFL at just 22 years old in '27. It's really a great situation for everyone, including Arch.

Atlanta Falcons would save $2.5 million by trading Cousins come 2025 (pre June 1, 2025). So there is a way to move on from Cousins and swiftly.
