And whats really annoying is what you said, clickbait..altered fake thumbnail images and facts twisting, just to get people to click and watch a video. There's way too much of that on UKposts. Indeed. The US justice system in many States is very messed up and doesn't work on the basic tenant and principles of justice and basic human rights. You cannot convict and find someone guilty based on something said by a third party. That isn't normally even allowed to be heard as evidence in a court hearing, let alone the basis for a conviction. It's hearsay. The only way verbal testimony can be used as evidence in court to convict is if it's coming from a first hand witness who is present in court on the stand for cross examination. If their testimony is coming via a third party it's very unlikely that would be admissible as evidence in most courts, except in rare instances, for example, where the witness is unable to testify, but their evidence is written down, validated, and read out by someone else who testifies to seeing them make or sign the statement. Even in that situation, the evidence has to be treated with caution and wouldn't carry nearly as much weight as it would coming from the witnesses mouth on the witness stand. Everyone has the presumption of innocence in law, until the prosecution has proved their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury who must vote unanimously to reach a guilty verdict. The burden to prove guilt rests with the State. The defence only needs to show a reasonable doubt. In many American trials, you have a prejudiced jury and judge. Hearsay and circumstantial evidence is allowed. Burden of proof is not met and there's reasonable doubt. Yet people get convicted to whole life sentences or given the death sentence in some States.

My brother deliberately stabbed someone. He was in prison for 18 years and I'd only met him when he got out. He realized his mistakes and he took responsibility for it. I'm glad that he was able to be a better person. He was a very angry teen. He is now married with a kid and owns his own house. The company he works at is even paying for him to go to college. Some people do regret the horrible things they did and try to make up for it. A lot of the people in this video are not those people. I can't even imagine how damaging it is to be put in prison for something you never did. 😢

Thats the thing, some people dont. I cant remember his name, but i saw a documentary about a young teenage boy who was falsely imprisoned for like 20 or 30 years or something, well into adulthood when he was finally cleared and set free. But he ended up taking his own life not long after because he just couldnt exist in the real world anymore. He was constantly paranoid that police was following him and that he would get locked up again. He had developed skizofrenia in jail so he kept seeing and hearing things that wasnt there and it eventually led to him taking his life. Its horrible what prison does to people. Like obviously some people deserve it, but we sure as hell should be a million percent sure the ones that get locked up really are guilty.

I'm glad the dispatcher was on to his bullshit right away. Even just in the fact that they put the child to bed from 3pm to let's say 9am like he corrected, that's 18 hours they claim that baby was sleeping with no contact, food, water, or diaper changes. A child could maybe handle that in an extreme emergency, but not daily. They spent 3/4 of their day ignoring her and waiting for her to die. I hope they threw every charge they could think of with the maximum punishment possible. You're right, total scum.

That means you shouldn't spend months on a trial that will barely make a difference

I used to think like you, but why should the state decide to end someone's life? Imagine if it was the guy who was incorrectly imprisoned for 18 years. And instead of that they gave him the death penalty. 18 years later it turns out he's innocent. You can't undo that. People have been, and will continue to be, falsely convicted. There's no point in even saying "just do it to the ones who are 100% guilty" because a lot of the time you don't definitely know that. Easier to just throw the death sentence out all together than the potential of an innocent person being killed.

Cause he committed a LOT of separate crimes throughout the chase. Many of which carry high sentences due to the imminent danger to public safety, ie there was a high risk of him murdering or severely injuring people in multiple instances of the chase

I believe it is all aggravating factors because he committed a numerous amount of crimes the maximum sentence increases (a lot of states even have a chart to determine sentences with other factors). Also he was sentenced to 160 years with 18 charges that is less then 9 years per charge. One of those charges being attempted murder.

To all of you saying it's because he did so many different things endangering people...he got 160 years for endagering many people, seriously injurying one. Someone MURDERED someone and only got 25 years. In no world should that be the case. If someone shoots at 500 people and doesn't hit one of them, they are in jail for life for attempted murder x500 yet the person that goes and shoots and kills one person is free to do so again potentially after 25 years? That's insanity.

evil doesn't have to have no excuse 😂 😢 😅 in syria after almost 13 years of war i started to read horrifying news about similar crimes many of them included the murder of vulnerable family members for as little as 100 dollars or less the criminals were grandchildren or children in most cases , what really makes it horrifying is that before the war started if a man shot another man after refusing to pay him back even a million dollars the whole country would be talking about it for days it was soo rare and now we are talking about stuff that usually happen in the wild west 😂 it's a mix of a one parent house hold or no parents at all and poverty and violence and lack of religion ( fear of god ) which was caused by the war people became poor over the years and too many men died imprisoned or dragged to the army or left the country which led to a country that has almost no dads poor women can't raise shit on their own 😅

Quite familiar with the Nikko Jenkins case, and you are 100% correct, the entire family were hard core career criminals. The sister was totally into it, she wanted to go along with Nikko and do some killing herself, she was quite turned on by all this. One has to wonder, is there any possibility that some aspects of this pervasive psychology has any genetic factors.
