As a musician myself (self-taught, not classically trained like you) watching someone's musical journey is always a delight. It takes me back to when I picked up a clarinet for the first time and having absolutely no idea what to do with it, and now I hardly even have to think about it.

Besides of a life story this was a life lesson for me: Realize that you will never master it so enjoy the ride trying to give your best shot! Thank you Lucas!

You having a duet with “the” yourself of 20 years ago is one of the most romantic and yet inspiring thing I’ve seen so far. Fantastic job. As always.

Boy, that really says everything about the incredible over the top difficulty of making a living as a musician. You can play for decades and live as a monk, devoting your ENTIRE time to practice and yet, still live in poverty while still having followed supposedly every "right step" of the process. Orchestra playing, studying in every prestigious music college, etc and yet having to teach young brats to simply eat. I guess there is a form of historical consistency though since the vast majority of artists have always remained poor as dirt (look at how Mozart ended lol). At least, UKposts allowed Lucas to make a living thanks to guitar. But let's think of all the other "Lucas" who play just as well and who have to give it up in order not to starve...

your progress at 14 is incredible. I started at about 14 and was playing Django at 20. I can't tell you how much I envy people who went to music school. I was the best musician in my school and the best artist and my family would not even consider sending me to art or music school

I'm 15 and I have been playing for about 3 and a half years, but I wasn't satysfied with my progress at all, but after watching your video, I realized that I should take things more paciently and have fun while playing. This has been a very moving video for me, since I see some parallels in the overall development compared to my journey as a guitarist (so far). I started playing the guitar when I was 12 and took electrical guitar lessons by a nearby teacher for almost 5 years - until Corona kicked in, but it wasn't all too bad, since I had to quit lessons somewhere in that year anyway because I thought I needed to move for Uni. Turns out, everything is digital and it doesn't make any sense to move. Anyways, we mostly did your usual Bluesy, Jazzy, Rock-kind-of stuff that you'd expect on an electrical guitar, but after the lessons ended I was stuck in a hefty rut. Nothing moved forward nor backward, I felt no motivation to practice whatsoever and thought I hit a road block in my skills (early intermediate you could call it). Then Uni started and it became really busy for me. Then my girlfriend quit. At this point, guitar was my least concern and I even didn't really do much for Uni until close before the exams. This time was the most stressful, emotionally draining, depressing and exhaustful time of my life. But it was also the time I discovered your videos and also the ones of similar artists like Emil Ernebro or the amazing Tommy Emmanuel. I also discovered Brandon Acker and gradually developed a refined taste in (old) acoustic instruments and Classical music. It made me listen to so much pieces and the fulfilment felt endless. Some time in I thought to myself (rather jokingly) that someday I'm going to buy a classical guitar and play all of those beautiful pieces I hummed with my mouth and that kept stuck in my head. Then you did the videos on Francisco Tárrega and Barrios. I was comitted, especially to Tárrega. I didn't know him yet, but the unbelievable beauty of his pieces lit up the fiery desire inside of me to play every single piece by him that has been published. And now we're here at 6 ½ years, me playing classical guitar for like 4 months and learning new repertoire pieces on a weekly basis, sometimes practicing for hours every single day and sucking up several different books containing notes, technique advise and music theory like a sponge with a daily hunger to buy more (I study computer science, so I can afford it, fortunately). It makes me feel things I had forgotten from my life, that I only remembered from memories when I just started out playing the guitar and making little step-by-step, yet steady and joyful progress. It even affected the discipline, effectivity and motivation for my Uni studies a whole lot. Never have I ever made so much progress in such little time, feeling so dedicated and fulfilled along the way and this is also partly due to the enjoyable content you have been making and that I'm so happy to watch. After watching this, my husband and I who have been playing together for 30 years or so, just had the best rehearsal of our lives. This is a wonderful share Lucas, I recently started to ponder the concept of "enjoying the journey" and is much more profound as it seems. We are often too much obsessed in "where" we are going without thinking instead of "why"? It is almost impossible to answer to the first question, or at least, doesn't make much sense, while to the second is much simpler: we love playing and we should do regardless.

You must be so happy that you have this footage of yourself as you started out young and went through the years. I know I’m happy to see your evolution. It’s just so remarkable refreshing and inspiring! I am almost 68 and just working on the level six exam for CGCA I’ve been playing for Over 40 years, and still A beginning and intermediate, but finally have the time to be studying with a good program. I love watching all your solo work I prefer to play in community either ensemble or duet etc. but there’s always the occasion where I will need to play solo especially at exam time. Your videos are refreshing you’re an out-of-the-box thinker!

3:00 Can't believe how good of a tone you had developed already here for "Minor swing" compared to the two previous clips. Amazing to see this journey. I just watched my dad's films of me as a kid for the first time. Can really see how into music I was already as a kid. With a surprising understanding of rhythm already then. I hope all artists (in ant field of artistry) take time to revisit and remind themselves of their immense journey from their humble beginnings and then see where their passion(s) have taken them.

I love to improvise after my repetitive and somewhat boring practice sessions and it is amazing and really encouraging, I might not get as good as a professional guitar player but I have a lot of fun; Thanks a lot for sharing all of this to us 🎶

I've been watching your videos for a while now, and sometimes I can get really upset thinking about how "I'm never gonna play guitar this well". Seeing how much you've practiced during your whole life brings me a sense of ease, since I only started playing when I was 21 (4 years ago). I really hope to keep practicing for at least 10 more years, untill I'm able to play with some expertise!
