Raphael Rabello's interpretation of "Luiza" is spot on. The song was written by brazilian legend Tom Jobim, world famous for "Girl from Ipanema". The music gained national recognition in Brazil when it was used as the opening title music for soap opera "Brilhante" in 1982. To me "Luiza" is highly emotional, there is a romantic anguish to it that usually moves me to tears if performed with sensibility. This interpretation from Raphael Rabello hits the right spots and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. Yes, I shed some tears while listening. The song has also been interpreted by other brazilian greats such as Chico Buarque.

But he grew up without the Internet, and just had to listen to songs and try to recreate. He didn't realise he didn't have to recreate the entire sound of the band though. 🤣 So he's often playing rhythm and lead, and then the keyboard parts too! Good slide is hard enough, but making it sound like you're NOT using a slide is beyond good. Dude is a robot.

As Brazilian who actually got to listen Raphael Rabello live show I can say that ,due to technology limitations from the time period, the recording's nowhere near the sound that you would actually listen from his performance in a live session. The dude was just unbelievable.

I've seen the Yamashita video many times. I was fascinated with Yamashita and read up about him a few years ago. As I recall, the straight-laced classical guitarists of the time kind of ostracised him because of his unorthodox technique, using small finger etc. Too bad many couldn't accept his ground-breaking utter genius because they were threatened

Check out another Brazilian. Naudo Rodrigues who plays over 2,000 songs from memory and plays bass, rhythm and lead at the same time. He plays classical, flamenco, rock, jazz, and anything and everything in between. Basically has rubber fingers on his left hand.

Thank you, I would never have heard Yamashito if not for you! I am totally blown away by what I just saw. Clearly the first guy, Mead is a fan and can do with one finger what Yamashito does with all of his fingers! Totally amazing, thanks again, I liked and subscribed.

Yamashita is a craftsman, virtuoso, and has the most insane trill in classical guitar. Add to that the incredible dynamic of plectrum position choices, and he becomes god like....

Wow, Yamashita is INSANE! That tremolo finger... Have you ever heard Aerial Boundaries by Michael Hedges? Definitely worth a listen! Such an amazing song, and the dude was an absolute master in terms of his playing and arrangements.

Most of the times , whenever Lucas speaks or reacts, it feels like he's dropping some kind of sarcasm. It makes these reaction videos even more interesting!! Anyway lucas remains one of my personal favorites, no matter how many insane guitarists he reacts upon. ❤❤
