@William Watkins shadow systems have guns around 1k and if you use their weapon for self defense and it gets taken as evidence, shadow systems will send you a replacement gun. Which i think is pretty cool

@@Systemicglee___ you know what I find cool, not dealing with jams. Out of thousands of rounds out of a glock I have shot. Never once jamed on me. Even 2 year old ammo. Out of the first few of other brands. They have jammed once in a few magizines

@@urboyseth5922 the whole Glock exploding bit, while it was a very rare and real thing it happened way less than malfunctioning M-16 rifles in Vietnam. The exploding Glock is now a meme that Glock haters seem to grip like grim death since the list of Glock deficiencies is very short. Funny enough, Glock once upon a time actually made grenade fragmentation bodies for hand grenades. Glock was the pistol that all others aspired to be one day and now all great production (and in current issue and use) are polymer framed, high capacity, striker fired, and are dirt simple in manual of arms. Just a coincidence I'm sure. Bashing on Glocks is as boomer as harping about 7.62 being better than 5.56, wheelguns being better than semiautos, or how one doesn't have to aim a shotgun. Using a Steyr pistol is like trying to out-hipster a CZ user. Didn't Wilhelm Bubits work for Gaston Glock anyway? 😂

It's not so much for looks(though I imagine for many people it is), it just happens to be the natural color of TiN coating that increases wear resistance, lowers friction, and makes it easier to clean. So yes, a lot of people choose it for the look(which over personally never liked), but it does serve a functional purpose on a defensive/"tactical" handgun.

@Paul Bargo 1911s are awesome weapons. Especially when you consider the design is 110+ years old and still going strong today. Yes, they have flaws, 7 rounds in a mag plus one in the tube, need some custom work, and tuning for serious accuracy, etc... Originally they were designed as a cavalry weapon replacing the saber. The US Cavalry ordinance wanted a pistol that could be easily loaded on a horse, and packed a punch at a distance of out to 15 feet. Recoil is not punishing and most people can learn to be reasonably proficient. For the most part a pistol is designed to be a short range defensive weapon.

@Paul Bargo Excellent choice! In many ways it corrects all the problems of the 1911s. It's truly a 21st century weapon. I hope it is around as long as the colt 1911. Who knows what roll the political climate will bring in the next hundred years. Thank you for your service!!

The golden finish actually can be practical. Some titanium nitride based finishes are gold colored. Such finishes offer great corrosion & wear resistances.

It's the remains of the KRISS SPHINX after they went bankrupt. Their inventory was bought and now they're produced as the B&T MKII and the Phoenix fusion. Look at the bodies and you'll see where the slides have been milled to remove any of the previous SPHINX markings.

Nighthawk specifies NOT to push the slide release down with an empty mag in the magwell. The mag spring pressure can cause excess wear to the slide release (Nighthawk owners manual) I honestly dont believe anyone could just break a NHC 1911 like that anyways, but eh.

I love my Les Baers and Ed Brown SF .45s. Zero decorative fru fru. Clean, lean, and reduced to the most primal 1911 design. No French borders, No gold barrels. No flat topping, No 40 LPI checkering wirh matching 40 LPI on the extractor head, no ball end milling, no bull barrels or fluting on the barrel chamber, just pure social work pistols. No silly features.

@Paul Bargo if someone could comfortably afford it that's good and another gun always is a good idea to me. Just looking at it from a design perspective I just don't see anything other than handfitting that would justify that price. If it has cam locks instead of link locks and all that kind of stuff it would be a lot more interesting to me. I'm just not a fan of all of these manufacturers coming out with crazy expensive stuff. It just looks to me like they believe HK doesn't charge enough.

Fun Fact: The B&T MK2 is a Sphinx SDP Compact with Sphinx’s engravings and roll marks cleverly and (and quite stylishly, imho) milled out. B&T purchased Sphinx after they filed for bankruptcy, and with that acquisition came a handful of SDP Compact slides that were already completed and awaiting assembly. So B&T just milled out pockets where Sphinx had plastered their name all over the pistol and sold it as the ultra low production (😮💨) B&T MK2. Still, a fantastic DA/SA Swiss made pistol nonetheless!!

Absolutely love all the 5 but the bonus number 6, not so much. If I lived in America I would most definitely be a "gun nut". For looks, my favourite would be between 2 and 3.

First time I saw the G48 in a top 5 favorites vid. Gun is snappier than my other guns but a charm for concealed carry

My personal favorites would be the M9, and the Five-Seven. But mostly the Five-Seven. It’s a perfect example of why FN is such a top-notch company. In fact, their FAL is legit my favorite rifle as well.
