I went out today to mine some nugget gold using my wash plant and I found a big gold nugget under a boulder! When I move boulders I normally find gold nuggets but this one was my biggest gold nugget yet!

I agree. I worked in heavy industry for over 30 years. And I haven't seen anything that can't be moved with the right size portable hydraulic jacks. When you properly rig a 100 ton hydraulic jack against a movable object--something is going to give. It's simple leverage at work.

I tried panning and sluicing in the creek bed itself and had very poor results. Id find gold occasionally but it was miniscule. Since i got wise and woke up one day and realized I was digging the wrong spot things are only getting better. I brong home gold every time I'm out there. When you hold your first $200 gold nugget in your hands after four years of prospecting... King Kong aint got nothing on me! Damm straight,...keep working buddy..good job! I found a spot, a lucky spot in the redwood forest on this hill.i managed to dig out about 100 pounds of natural or "native" placer platinum nuggets! They all ranged from about 1 to 6 ounces in weight .Also around the spot where I dug, I also pulled out Lava rock....which made sense considering I had heard about platinum and it's geography. Platinum is deep in the Earth's crust, when a volcano erupts it pushes the platinum, which is in a hot liquid form, to the top of the earth . When the platinum hits the top and the air, it cools and hardens. Didn't mean to give you a platinum. 101 schooling ,just was a special thing to me to find all of that, so I thought I'd share it with you. You seem like you could appreciate my story. congratulations on your finds and good luck in the future!

Had to comment. First you should have pinned the thumb up out of the way. How to pry with bucket, get teeth started under rock, then curl bucket in and stick out and boom down all at the same time. Doing it like this you will not even lift the ass of the machine off the ground. If you still need more pry power place a rock or log chunk behind the big rock and then place bucket between the two. The small rock or log chunk will act as a pivot point or fulcrum for your bucket, use same bucket curl, stick out, boom down. You will find this technic very useful. Good luck from a 45 year equipment operator. Nice find.

@ANDYTHRAXX4 роки тому
Hey 🙂 thank you for the question, technically placer mining is the least environmentally impacting of the different mining types, we don’t use chemicals or blast mountains apart which changes the earth forever. We really try to disturb as little area as possible, one thing we do is work only where logging has happened before, this particular forest has actually been logged 3 times already in the past, my personal commitment is to have these sites reclaimed to exactly as it was and I will show this in future videos🙂 Check out my very first video titled “Andy’s Reclamation” I’m so proud of this, it was actually the first video I was proud enough to share, it ultimately inspired the channel. I was going to name the channel “Calm Passionate Miner” because I love nature and animals so much, the least I could do was pledge to do better than others environmentally speaking. @@ANDYTHRAXX Hey bud - thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm really glad to hear that you're not just leaving the site all torn up. I'm all for enjoying the natural resources - and even the bounty it provides. As a fisherman, I often see people leave their sh*t all over the place - trashing it up. Just makes the experience less enjoyable. I will def check out the video you highlighted, and I commend you for making efforts to improve the area. As you mentioned, if you show the reclamation process in the video outtake, it would ease a lot of tree-huggers like me. BTW - you're so right about chemical usage...and I'm glad you haven't gone that route. Thank you.

Hey nice Nugget, at 12:57 is that another piece to the left of the big one almost to the edge of the screen, on left of the biggun.
