That gloss stripes on the matte body are just killing it!! Never seen it like this but loved it instantly! Considering it too for my Ioniq 6 wrap in some other way

So gratifying to see a guy who just turned 30 that's able to buy and enjoy a car like this. I always love the common-sense perspective and humility that Marques brings to his reviews, and this is no exception. As far as the car, I NEVER like blacked-out cars or black wheels (I LOVE colors besides black, gray, silver, and white), but I've got to agree that this spec is pretty sick. The shiny stripe down the middle and the glass roof really set it apart in my opinion, and make it awesome. Excited to see an in-depth review of this car from MB sometime in the next year or so, and to see what the Plaid goes for (and smooth move selling it on Cars & Bids!)

Great Choice! My all-time favorite car to drive was a 1979 VW Rabbit manual. Stripped down and amazing handling locally in Plainfield, NJ. Porsche is an amazing driver's car. Good luck!

This is a great choice. Everybody on the youtubes is now buying a GT3 or GT3 RS but this Turbo S is more versatile and less punishing as a daily sports driver. Dare I say sensible choice.

Congrats! Red breaks were actually standard on the 911. The breaks were called the big reds on the 917 and the 993 turbos. The colors of the break calipers indicate the break pad/rotor type you have. Yellow/Green = carbon ceramic.

It’s basically the Lebron of Supercars. Not the best at everything, but 9/10 at every category.

Congrats, Marques! The 992 Turbo S is sensational. I work for Porsche, and out of all the cars I have driven, the Turbo S is my favorite for the reasons you mentioned. Great buy! A few things to note, wireless phone chargers are an option and, sadly, are not standard equipment, but they are available when speccing the car. Also, the My Porsche companion app does allow you to pre-climatize the cabin along with the ability to lock/ unlock, viewing TPMS, the trip computer, as you mentioned, and setting speed or valet alarms. The Porsche dealership should have set it up and showed it to you upon delivery. Also, for those that want to order a Porsche and are thinking about the dashcam, I highly recommend that you opt for the dashcam pre-wiring, which saves a lot of time and money. It can be done when you configure your car. The Porsche-branded dashcams are mounted just above the windshield and rear window panels. The Porsche dashcam app allows one to save videos and view a live camera feed, which you may find similar to what Tesla offers. Again, congratulations! Enjoy the car, and we look forward to seeing future videos on it!

Strange to see someone coming from a world where have a phone key for a car is the norm. Took me a second to understand what Marques was talking about.

Once Marques started comparing iPhone to Porsche, I knew this coming.

Wow Marques - great back story leading to the purchase. Four years ago after wanting a sports car for 12 years at least, I bought my Porsche 911 Carrera T (Black on Black murdered of course with Yellow interior trim) 1st sports car at age 74. Early in 2023 at age 78, I took it to a DE event in Purnam Race Park. It is a daily driver that gets covered for a couple of months in Kentucky.

Congratulations! love seeing hard work pay off. You have my dream car. If I had to pick one, it would be the same...or a GTS for the manual. Absolutely gorgeous.

992 turbo s is one of my favorite's, but can get boring after thousands of miles. I can't wait to see you upgrade to a 992 GT3RS one day

I drove a 2018 Porsche Cayman through Turo. As a pretty basic base model car, it was, by far, the best driving experience I've ever had. The car knew what I wanted to do before I did. And, I think, that is the point of a Porsche. It is a drivers car, ready to do whatever you want at any second.

Been watching him for over 10 years now and I had the biggest smile watching him nerd out about his new Porsche. Enjoy the car my guy!

had a 2014 porsche 911 turbo s.. 100% right on all points. Speed, quiet, handling - Feels like a rollercoaster you're controlling. razor handling and insane speed / acceleration.

Porsche really is a life changing driving experience. They are so thoughtfully made, they are extremely reliable despite being a luxury euro car and they seem to always intentionally stay a couple steps back on tech to reduce risk and over-complicating these cars. They are just so damn perfect end to end that you wont even care about a lack of convenience features.

Porsche has done such an incredible job to maintain its racing heritage, design, R&D, engineering, drive train technology, etc. better than almost any other brand. Ferrari is up there also! But I agree. This is a great sports car...I'm envious for sure! Best wishes! Mixing hybrid technology as it advances to this type of vehicle would be incredible. HP / Torque and better MPG's. Win / Win

As far as the backup camera goes, I think you can change the view. You can in my Macan. That standard view is super distorted. I switch mine to regular view. Not sure if you can on the 992 though. But you should be able to. Congrats- that thing is sweet!

Truly a super great car. Enjoy it as you worked hard for it. As I am also driving a 911 and love it and never sell it, it will never be my daily driver. I like the power of my electric car and this is my daily driver but at weekends when I am fed up with chargers not working and all the stuff I hate with the electric car world I enjoy the sound, the feeling and the excitement it gives. So have fun!

That's a hell of a car. Had a chance to drive it for a few minutes and I can't agree more that it's the best car in the world. The steering feel is unforgettable. The rear steering is so accurate and unobtrusive. Acceleration is both violent and confidence inspiring. I'd chose more subtle spec but this one is great too. I'm glad Marques got this 911, hoping for a full review.

Wow, what a nice first sports car for a guy who just turned 30. I too bought my first Porsche, a 911S, pumpkin orange with black vinyl interior, no AC. Congrats! I hope, unlike so many owners, that you will actually drive the car instead of keeping it garaged and pristine. Porsches are meant to be driven not treated like investments, they aren't rare, not a Lambo or Ferrari.

Good to see that you ‘get it’s with Porsche. To truly unlock the value (ie the amount of R&D) that Porsche puts into these cars, you really need to drive it on a track, with an instructor (if you don’t have track experience). I would be interested to hear your impressions after doing this!

I have the 991.2 Turbo S and agree with all your points. I also have a MX Plaid--great tech and daily driver, but the Porsche is the best daily driver. Also, you might consider an older 997 S with stick-shift-I kept that one two and I take it our on the road for mind-clearing drives on weekends

As a (relatively) new Taycan owner, your comments on tech really hit home. It has everything you absolutely *need* but there is a wide gap between what you expect in 2024 and what Porsche delivers from a software perspective. The really funny thing is that most Porsche owners seem to love to make excuses for the outdated tech, rather than pushing the company to do better. For example, even the Taycan II (the new 2025 refresh) is still way behind where it should be, and the 911 is unfortunately in the same boat. On the positive side, the very first thing I noticed driving my car, which was my first Porsche drive, is the steering. It is just micro-responsive on a level I had not experienced before. I actually used to drive with one hand on the wheel and my right resting on the shifter. But I found with the Porsche steering that even that slight pressure was enough to make me drift left. Had to relearn that habit.
