Thank you Isaac. It's just a shame that the past owner didn't keep up with the section maintenance, home maintenance. Cleared all of the dead wood as it died. Kept the rooves, gutters cleaned. It would have saved you so much money time and effort. I know he was elderly, but services around would have helped him Im sure, if he had approached them. Even prior to putting the house up for sale.... good clean up. Well done on the clean up that you are doing now... Issac be careful burning any type of pine. Its sap creates creosote in the stove pipe chimney which can cause a fire. Best to stay with hard wood over soft sappy wood. If you do burn sappy type woods it is essential to get your stove pipes cleaned every year.

I bet you're doing better than most of your neighbors. Maybe you should think about putting one of your wood burners in your house down the road. My husband put one in our last good size house and it heated the up and downstairs. We didn't use it 24/7, mainly day time when convenient, but still saved us tons of money.

just be sure to let the wood cure and dry out before burning it so you don't get kerosote in the pipe which could cause a chimney fire. You also may want to have all the chimney's cleaned for the future.

The benefits for a wheelbarrow versus wagon . A wheelbarrow puts all the weight on the wheel and so when you lift it up all the weight is on that wheel and it saves your back also it's easier to lift up and it's easier to pull and load. It also makes a great ride pulling each other in it.. once you have a good one you won't go back to that wagon ..we had a wagon we tore the wheels up on it though quick

Bus Life Gotta Love it. I brought everything from the bus to Moms just in case the ice and snow took out lines over here. 😊 2 power station ready to go, propane heater, stove, lights and tanks. Best investment was from a guy you did on bus life and he had that propane adapter to refill green tanks with the 20lb tank. Ordered it then. 😊 I have saved so much $ with that already. Thank you very much..😊 Even brought the Joolca so had hot water too.. Next investment is that Honda Generator that guy brought to you guys while in the big bus.. Told my son and he was like, Mom I told ya that's the one you wanted 😂😂😂 🚌 Life... ✌ ❤

Grate job, be more prepared for next time. You are young and learning along the way. We have been burning wood for over 60 years. Always put your new cut wood in a pile outside, let it season for next fall. You will get lots of cresol in your chimney pipe if wood is wet. Keep all chimneys cleaned at least once a year. If not your could have a chimney fire and lose your house. Best of luck from Nova Scotia.

Property ownership is no joke. We had our full size 25 year old willow tree go down in a wind storm...just missed our fence and our glass greenhouse. but that was a huge tree to deal with. You had a LOT of limbs and debris to deal with and that's not easy. Good job! Crazy how many trees went down all over the area during that storm! I'm so glad you all have woodstoves as back up heat sources AND cooking sources. And as always...little Miss Ember is the most expressive little person...so adorable!

I would only burn pine trees in outside burn pits because the creosote is such a dangerous part of pine trees, but I love the scent they give off when burning outdoors, my grandkids love the pop sound the pines make too. You're doing an awesome job considering it's your first rodeo so to speak.

The snow and ice storm hit East Tennessee hard also. Kids were out of school for two weeks. So many roads were frozen solid the whole time. We didn’t loose power where I live. So glad you all were safe during the storm. I know it was hard to clean up afterwards. If you had waiting on your insurance to come and look at the damage your could have probably got a whole new roof and even with 1,000.00 deductible you would have come out better. Don’t be discouraged though I remember how it was being a first time home owner, so much to learn. That is life. You learn as you go Thur each new thing. Stay safe.

Wow! Gnarly storm ain't got nothing on y'all! Isaac you might want to check into a Pole Saw. Sharp blade on an extending pole, usually has a small branch pruner on it also. I would reach out to Gary at Simple Life Reclaimed, he has went from a 1st time chain saw user to a pro in just the time they have been on the 41.36. I know he could give you some good tips for using the saw. Ember just chilling, playing, singing, totally unaware that there is a crisis going on shows what good parents you and Jaylena are. Hope the worst is over for y'all.

Your should invest into a pressure washer for the spring to get rid of all the mold on the concrete. Ember is such a beautiful lil girl. Still have pumpkins am I early or late. See if you see anyone who owns goats or pigs give them to them. No chain saw make it easier work smarter not harder

Something you can do even though you have the truck fridge; in an ice storm or snowstorm with out electric; you can use that back porch with a clean metal trashcan & lid you can lock it down with bungie cord. Since you can close that door to keep animals out. I am from Ohio, for at least 6 months in the winter I had no fridge only an enclosed porch & a cheap cooler I kept my food like milk, eggs, butter, meat in it on the porch!
