RIP Kobe.
For this video I gathered a bunch of the live reactions / post reactions from celebrities, NBA players, and former friends of Kobe. For the thumbnail I took screenshots from the NBA Games and combined them in Phonto and Picmonkey. I edited this video on Final Cut pro.

No, neither of those two guys had a more impactful death on professional sports history... no one kows who Senna is, and Mohammad Ali was sick for a while before he passed away. Kobe Bryant was 100% healthy, with his daughter and a helicopter that never crashes suddenly crashed and killed everyone spontaneously. Odds are almost slim to none. This is by far the most horrific, and impactful sports deaths in sports history, if not the most impactful by far. Mohammad Ali still not even close to this horrific tragedy.

As a kid from Ohio when I was 7-8 years old I saw Kobe play for the first time and instantly fell in love. The heart the hustle. He’s the reason I became a die hard lakers fan and I’ve been one ever since. Then as I started to get older being able understand what he was saying in interviews and what he spoke about and just being able to see the person he was molded me to be like him. I wanted to be like Kobe and I still do. Then I remember watching his last game instead of the warriors game and it was incredible the fact that his last ever shot was a free throw… just like how he started his career. I teared up a little know I would never get to see him play basketball again. And being sixteen and hearing his speech afterwards brought a smile to my face and in that moment I wanted to be like him. He was my idol. Then after his retirement just seeing him go around on interviews and drop gems of knowledge I would soak it all in. And seeing him share his love of the game with his daughter excited me. And then seeing him at the game where Lebron passed him on the all time scoring list was incredible to see him and Lebron dap up was everything. Then the next day I was at work and he had a little time to slack off to I get on Twitter and I saw the tmz article and didn’t want to believe it and when it was confirmed I almost broke down in tears. When I did get back home I did break down crying. I couldn’t believe it. My idol. The person I wanted to be like. Gone. My first thought was how we won’t ever be able to see him grow old like bill Russell or julis Irving. As someone who loves the history of basketball that hurt me. But everyday I strive to be like Kobe and to keep his spirit alive. Mamba may be out but Mamba Forever. Rip the greatest 💜💛

story time: it was january, and i was at the nfl pro bowl in orlando. it was a fun time and all the fans and players were enjoying themselves. suddenly i get a text from my friend stating that Kobe passed in a helicopter accident. i didn’t believe him at first, because it wasn’t even on espn yet, only TMZ. soon though, an announcement was made during the game that kobe had died. the entire stadium was dead silent. people were crying. the game came go a brief halt as the fans and players took in the news. just as the game was getting started again, everyone started chanting “KOBE!, KOBE!”. it was a truly memorable moment and was a great way to honor him. from that point on in the game, players were doing Bryant related celebrations, such as a pretending to do a fade away after a sack, or when Davante adams did the 24 celebration after catching a TD pass. everyone was heartbroken, but all of the fans were moved by the event. sorry ik that was really long i just thought i’d share

Mark Daniel Not true, when people toss a paper ball into a trash can and yell out Kobe it’s pretty obvious how influential he’s been to a lot of people who love the game of basketball. He was one of the few players regardless of their own competitive nature that gave that back in teaching to others in the same game.

I can’t even imagine what Kobe’s wife thinks right know. She just lost her husband, AND her daughter in the same place and same time. And for everybody who is says that “I can’t imagine what they were thinking” and stuff, I will just tell u how they died: so on a helicopter, you can go really really slow. (15 mph slow) most of the people who were flying helicopters that day were going very slow because it was veryyy foggy. Kobe’s pilot, was going 180 mph. Basically he didn’t see this mountain, and he just ran into it. It was a quick death. There wasn’t like a whole movie scene where it’s like: “we’re going down!!!” And stuff. This stuff is very sad and you should be educated before saying stuff. Rip Kobe 💛💜

not only losing kobe breaks my heart but the fact that his daughter gigi was in the accident makes my heart break even more. she was only 13 years old. she had a whole life to live and could’ve possibly made it to the wnba to continue her father’s legacy. i cannot imagine the pain their family is going through rn. rest in peace kobe, gigi, and the passengers 🕊.

Heroes never die too though, man. This legengs and heroes thing being used for Kobe Bryant is extreme. He was both. But why can't we just say heroes never die either? Because they shouldn't.

For your rivals and opposing players and coaches to shed tears about your death is powerful. People cant help but honor the spirit of someone who is dedicated and dont back down in the face of adversity

With all respect, I'm against unconditionally idealizing people. Kobe was not perfect. He may have done some bad shit a long time ago that probably had something to do with his early, isolated years in the NBA. But I do have the sense that in recent years he was working to be as good a person as he possibly could-- and that a big part of that was trying to make sure that no one else like him had to go through those same years alone. He should be celebrated for that even more than for winning at all costs. I think he became a true hero when he began to accept that there had been costs, and started to do something about it.

Private Account bro does it really even matter at this point. We are just trying to honor a dead man here who may have done some things wrong in life but that’s being human, and I guess you are a perfect little person who has done nothing wrong in your life and you think you can criticize others for not being like you.
