Bringing back Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games is one of the best news I've ever heard. More of my childhood Nintendo memories are returning.

The fact that Link's Awakening DX, both Oracle games, AND Minish Cap are coming makes me so happy. I was worried it would never happen.

I really want more of the younger generation to experience the absolute masterpieces that are Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age. Watching a play through of them or watching videos where people show you the games isn’t enough

I'm honestly glad that you're doing this, I think it's an important part of your history and shouldn't be left in the past to die. Short, simple and sweet, that's what games used to be and they have an audience. Bring back Pokemon and offer online trading/battles, I think you'll blow the roof off of this project.

Superstar Saga is a game that will always be very close to my heart. I was so young when I played it on the GBA and I love everything about it. Thank you for bringing this game to a new generation.

Legend of Zelda Minish Cap was a gem of a game when I was young, and the fact I'll be able to play it again after losing the game cartridge years ago makes me so happy.

I'm 43 and I've been gaming since my toddler years on my late father's Atari 2600... and never looked back. The first game I beat was a Game Boy game (Super Mario Land). My heart will always be with the NES, Game Boy and SNES. This was the highlight of the Direct for me. As soon as this was available I played Super Mario Land 2, Kirby's Dream Land and Gargoyle's Quest (truly a hidden gem is Gargoyle's Quest). What a trip back through time. I have 2 words for Nintendo: THANK YOU!!!

This opens the door for Pokemon ruby, sapphire, emerald, fire red and leaf green to be officially released via emulator and even potentially compatible with Pokemon home for migration. Very excited for the future

Good to see Golden Sun getting recognised by Nintendo and will be playable in the future on the switch. But a new game in the series seems unlikely although we can always hope.

I remember buying a GBC as my first new system in stores. Bought Wario Land 3 with it and played the crap out of that game. True nostalgia there for me. All the GBA games bring back sooo many memories too. Especially Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. Amazing game.

The moment Minish Cap showed and the live chat was flooded by appreciation for the game made me realize I could die in peace. The game truly deserves all the love and I can't wait to play it forever again. This was one of the ultimate best directs, Nintendo💖

Pokemon TCG on GBC and Golden Sun on GBA is all I needed to hear!! SO COOL!

An entire year passed and we still miss key titles like - Wario Land 4 - Metroid Zero Mission - Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland - A Link to the Past + Four Swords (pls let people play this amazing game again!!!) Also special mention goes out to these titles: - Wario Ware Twisted (Tilt'n'Tumble worked and this on did NOT release in Europe) - F-ZERO Climax (The Best GBA F-ZERO Game and it never released outside of Japan) I know the Retro Titles are not the main focus of the Company! But it just hurts to know that the WiiU Library had so many more games Why can't you just port them over? There are no Licencing Fees! Why do we have to wait so long?! Why do we get all the Mario Advance Games who are just like the Allstars Version of the Games with more Content when FULL ON Remakes or entirely new Sidegames exist I know that probably every decicion come from Nintendo Japan But I won't get this company.... I own most of the above mentioned games.... some even multiple copies of!!! But I can't play them with my friend via the Internet because they live all over the country! And won't get me started on all the people who can't afford second hand copies and consoles..... All I want to say is.... I am just sad : (

No way! This is what I wanted to see on the Switch! GB Color and Advance! So far, this is a start and I'm very pleased with these results. Hopefully they add other games that aren't Nintendo mascot characters

How cool to see a form of gameplay like game & watch that is simple and creative and we are left wanting to know what takes creativity to the next level with something so simple. Donkey Kong from game & watch what a cool little game and Tetris makes us want to make as many different lines as possible from the popular mini games of the time.

This is great! If they add Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal to this, I hope they update Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2 to allow transfers by adding a transfer pak app in the future.

Sucks that you have to have the expansion pack to play gba games and it's weird not seeing a mainline pokemon game on there (unless Nintendo plans on talking about them in the pokemon presents later this month). Other than that, it's great these games are finally coming to switch online and I wonder if GameCube is next for September's direct

Will definitely be getting the expansion pass for the golden sun games and Pokemon TCG I personally think Nintendo could make more selling the games individually hoping they do that with any old pokemon games they bring out like on the virtual console even if it is $10-$20 a pop

The e-reader levels of Mario 3 will live on... I was super fascinated by them back in the day during childhood so it's amazing that SMA4 is a launch title of GBA NSO. It's the closest we've had from having an original 2D Mario post SM64 before NSMB DS. This release will surely increase the e-reader levels' reach, and hopefully people end up Speedruning them too.

I want my money back. The GBA emulator was the thing that finally hooked me into buying the expansion pack, I never really got too play and GBA games and I thought: "hey, my payment for my Nintendo membership is coming up, might as well get the expansion pack with it if they finally put GBA games on it, I'll also get some Nintendo 64 games and some other stuff out of it too." It's almost been a year and the have only added 6 games too the GBA emulator, 3 of them were games we could already play (the mario advanced series), like im giving you money so I can legally play your games, but no, your Nintendo, cant have more than 6 games on launch, that would be wayyy too much for our fans. And you may be saying: "you should be more grateful, Nintendo is actually giving us what we wanted," my guy, we could easily get what we wanted through emulation or heck, the real thing if u wanted too, but no, we just have too wait for Nintendo to just toss us a bone as they twiddle their thumbs making remakes of games that already exist. Oh yea, the N64 emulator just flat out sucks, but everyone knew that, and most of the other things that are included I can just buy individually instead of paying $60 a year on them. I wasn't expecting the whole GBA library, but oh my god I wasn't expecting this amount of laziness either, almost a full year, 6 games, (technically 3). Nintendo is only good at making games, not marketing, not appealing too their audience, not making consoles that can't even run pong, just their games. I hate this company, im going back too the $20 subscription, screw you and your crappy emulation skills.

Let's hope Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow can come in the foreseeable future!

I suppose the switch's limit is gba and n64 games for emulation, nds games perhaps too. I imagine that for switch 2 they'll space out the additions and more powerful hardware could allow for Gamecube, nds and 3ds, maybe even wii, making nintendo switch online a library of sorts.

Looking forward to the Oracle games. I hope I am able to finish Seasons this time around. The cool thing is that on the Switch, we are not bound to the small screen. It is like having the GameBoy Player on the Game Cube yet again (y).

I love how their bringing superstar saga into the expansion though I still wish they would make more Mario & Luigi games.

Tetris could after the last level lower some of the level randomly, maybe insert a modification for voice when it makes 4 lines of characters from the Nintendo universe. Think it's really cool to play with games made in dots, it seems more relaxing to the eye. Could even have a game in black and white and only show the color of objects or items when it really matters.

We do hope there will be bug fixes, and the GS Ball and Old Sea Chart events being implemented in Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Emerald. The old games should be released as eShop games.

The game boy has always been my favorite console of all time. Everything about it from how simple it is to the awesome boot up noise. I feel young again.

I hope the Sonic Advance games and Sonic Battle come to gameboy advance on Nintendo Switch Online. I have been really wanting to play those games

Almost 6 months into the Game Boy Advance being available on Switch Online, and still no Metroid Zero Mission.

Super Mario Land 2 was the first game I ever played. I haven't been able to play it for over 20 years. I'm about to cry.

Zelda the minish cap is honestly one of the best games I’ve ever played on my GBA. I had the golden Zelda edition GBA SP and I played that game so much! I would love it if you started making the original GBA or GBA SP’s again with better screen and headphone output. I’d buy it instantly. I’d buy the cartridge games too. Experiencing that era of games with an updated GBA would be so amazing!

Would like to add, I'd like it if they included the black and white version of Link's Awakening. I know some would find that unnecessary, but it does have some differences from the DX Color version. (Like the ending sequence.) Also, a Super Gameboy mode for the SGB enhanced games (like Donkey Kong, Wario Land 2, and Mole Mania) would be nice. Love those pixel art boarders. (Truly an underrated feature.)

Love that Golden Sun is coming, although a stand alone re-release would have been great but still fantastic.

Yes! This is such great news! I had a feeling this would happen, and I'm so happy! Thank you Nintendo! I wonder if they will release new Game Boy themed controllers like they did for NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis. Maybe they'll even add a Super Gameboy mode.
