To be fair . Novak is the most sincere with the plaudits for me . Always humble and complementary, even in DEFEAT.The other two could do little more of this, when it's the other way around. When Novak whips their asses on other surfaces. I'm a fan of all 3 Goats . There is nothing to seperate their greatness , other than strengths on different surfaces.

Nadal needs to pay attention to the second set when playing against Djokovic. He is losing second sets quite often to Djokovic and this shifts the momentum against him. Happened the same in RG 21 semifinals. Novak is a better retriever of match when coming from behind as compared to anyone in the world. To be consistent against him, the second set cannot be missed out especially in a Grand Slam.
@nishagovil9207
@nishagovil9207 2 роки тому
@@goBhaskar77 a win is not guaranteed against him even if you win the 2nd. We saw against tsitsipas but I got your point that to win against Novak you have to absolutely crush him and give him no room of comeback. Even with Novak's ability to counter Nadal's ridiculous Forehand topspin to the backhand (Federer's Achilles heel), Rafa when playing close to his peak on clay and importantly aggressively, is virtually unbeatable. That extra-bounce and extra-time he has on clay courts, give him an edge over Djokovic. On hard courts it's Novak's playground.

@Alboravin
@Alboravin 2 роки тому
Depends on the hard court. At the slower USO it’s a slight advantage to Rafa (as long as his service game is on point and he stays aggressive). RG is overwhelmingly advantage Rafa. On the other hand at the faster AO hard court it’s all Nole of course, and a slight advantage to Nole at Wimbledon whenever they’ve met over the past decade. The way I see it with these two (currently) joint goats 🐐 is that they are simply split up between faster and slower courts, Nole is the 🐐 on faster courts (although somewhat debatable with Federer) and Rafa the undisputed 🐐 on slower surfaces. The other main difference is that Nole has had higher highs (most weeks at #1, two of the single greatest seasons of all time in 2011 and 2015) but also lower lows in the rankings compared to Rafa, who’s been more steady and consistent there throughout the years (a record 800+ weeks and counting in the top 10, of which 570+ weeks or 71% have been spent in the top 2), and all of this despite injuries to both players throughout their careers. Both have incredible, difficult to beat records under their respective names. One is the 🐐 of faster surfaces (with a higher ceiling in his game), the other is the 🐐 of slower surfaces with unmatched consistency for 15+ years and counting. We have to enjoy these guys while they’re still plying their trade on a tennis court - Father Time and injuries over the next few years will likely soon beat them into retirement.

To Novak fans, from a Rafa fan: Novak Djokovic is not only a consummate tennis player (obviously one of the greatest ever), but a gentleman and a philosopher. The way he pushed Rafa to 3 sets in a very tight match (Rafa only won 3 more points) after spending 5 hours on court in 2 matches the day before is testament to his extraordinary mental and physical capacities. Being able to watch these 2 eternal gladiators who only have tremendous respect for one another and who have pushed one another to always reach for greater heights for so many years has been an honour and pleasure. For these guys to still be on top after all these years has taken intelligence, creativity, and problem solving skills, which they couldn’t have done if they were doping. I used to be glued to Rafa’s matches 10 years ago! So happy to see he’s still getting it done

Great match. This rivalry hasn't lost its magic yet. Coming from a Nole fan, of course I wanted Nole to this and to win RG a 2nd time, but this Rafa is a monster on clay and deserved victory.

To be fair, Nadal channeled another level of tennis in the final set, and there wasn’t much his opponent could do. I think Djokovic performance exceeded expectations

The second game Novak hit lucky down the line backhand else the break could have come there... Fifth game Rafa was bit lucky .. But rest it was one way traffic

Not at all,exceeded expectations,how? Below par jokovich all the time on clay against Rafa.Nothing new same story since 2011. Only time he exceeded expectations was in RG semi 2013 5 setter or 2015 QF but that was unfit Rafa. So, really? As if we all knew the result anyways.He has won a set on many occasions against Rafa in RG as well but that is as far the expectations take him. Yesterday against Tsitsipas was the best I have seen jokovich play on clay and today was a pathetic performance as opposed to yesterday

Congratulations to Novak for an amazing tournament but I just don't think he can hang with Rafa anymore on Clay. He played amazing today but still lost, Rafa was amazing in the Big moments but nowhere near his RG level or even 2019 level. I just don't see anyone beating him in RG. I'm not saying he's gonna win without dropping a set but he's gonna take it

@@ismetcehic5581 Yes he cannot beat Rafa in finals on clay especially RG as simple as that

Djokovic was not 100%. Not in a way that he didn't try, but Djokovic can play a lot better than this. Anyways, Rafa was a beast in the 3rd set and that's that, GG

Apply on every sports. If you playing with that spirit and determination even you're losing you're still a winner. Nadal is such a beast, mentally and physically. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
