Ahead of this year’s Nvidia GTC developer conference, CNBC sat down with founder and CEO Jensen Huang to talk about ChatGPT, gaming, the omniverse, and what’s next. In this full interview, Huang takes us on the journey of Nvidia, from its early days in a condo to the dominant player in GPUs, gaming, and now A, which is a major focus of GTC this year. Huang also talks about how he handled China export controls, and geopolitical tensions swirling around Taiwan where most of its chips are made.

More quarters and outlooks from big tech names, powered by Nvidia (which has more chips than we thought!), as well as this trader FOMO, may lead to renewed buying strength in markets in September and October. I want to invest more than $300k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk

Meanwhile, Intel is on the tail of AMD gaining market share at a cheaper price! Good luck AMD! Here's to more competition in the GPU space! 😅

This is a myth. If they wanted to, they could order more wafers from TSMC. In fact, they were supposed to receive more wafers, but decided to cut them down (back in ~October 2022, as I remember). They decided not to create more GPUs, deliberately, as a choice - to artificially slow down supply, sell Ampere stock, and inculcate a new price floor on consumers for generations to come.

@@Mrfiufaufou It's literally the exact opposite. You can't blame people for making choices that benefit themselves: their budgets are tight, the information they have about the products they consume is limited, their education is inadequate, etc. You're putting the burden on the wrong people. You know who you can blame? The entity that oversees the entire chain of production. The entity who makes all the decisions about their product. The entity that fully understands what their product is, does, and how much it costs. The entity that unilaterally sets prices, that avoids regulations, that rips off or lies to consumers in a myriad of ways.

Crazy how far gpu's have come and how they went from driving gamers favorite pass time to being one the most important products in the world, a product that will drive humanity forward by enabling creations that will increase the health and life spans of humans, lower poverty and make college level educations cheap or perhaps even free if you're willing to put up with ads. I went with AMD this graphics card cycle (first time I didn't go with nVidia in nearly two decades), because they've got DisplayPort 2.1, and bandwidth is important when one is interested in 8K displays. I just hope an 8K monitor better than the Dell UP3218K comes out before too long, because my Dell, which I've had for four years now, has a TAB-error, and I'd like something a little bit more advanced, preferably with a smaller 27 inch diagonal and higher pixel density.

I’ve seen people complaining about the lack of DP2.1, but it never make sense to me. NVIDIA cards have HDMI 2.1, which is also capable of 8k@60Hz. And none of the card on the market today is capable of rendering 8k at higher than 60 fps. I just don’t understand why that is a deal breaker
@Darhan62
@Darhan62 Рік тому
@@Owenzzz777, it's about future-proofing for the monitors that I hope are coming, if the display industry will get off it's lazy behind and innovate in that area. I need to use two DisplayPort cables to run my UP3218K. They should be able to do it with just one, reduce the screen size to ~27", which is my ideal screen size for a desktop monitor, and improve things like black levels, contrast, color gamut, pixel response time, etc... And, of course, higher than 60Hz refresh would be nice too. I've been chasing the perfect monitor for decades, and shall likely continue to for as long as my eyes still work.
