Grain fed cows are more profitable because they grow fatter, faster and sell for more money. It took a hundred years to figure out that it was more important to keep them healthy.

I am always mind blown that people don’t know that cows eat straw. 😂😂 so they just casually eat grass right? Well if they constantly do that the grass goes away so you offset that by buying straw and they eat that also. The problem is that you can buy cheep hay and if you do that they will become weak and skinny even though they’re eating because it lacks the nutrients they need in order to grow big and fat. So if you can have a farm where all they eat is nutrient rich grass then they’ll be a lot more healthy. Rare though. Even on the farm I grew up on in texas we had to feed them straw but we always bought the premium stuff because they sell for the most when they’re ready.

Grain fed is better then grass fed. Or even raised on grass and a small amount of grains. But finished on grains. Is so much better. Grass fed lacks fat and marbling like grain fed. Also they take alot longer to raise to butcher size meaning. The meat is older and a little tougher, the more a muscle works the more tough it is. That's why back straps are so good and tender because they never get used. And also that's why veal is good and tender because. The muscles haven't had a chance to get tough

Cows that aren't grass fed are fed grains and corn...

They fed them corn. Makes them super fat. But they cant digest it well so it causes horrible cow health issues. Grass is much better.
