No the roof should stay light because it reflects sunlight and keeps the house cooler. A little darker on the walls wouldn't hurt but again the point is to reflect the hot ass Texan sun

You use light roofs to reflect sun. There’s actually government rebates for being eco friendly and using light colored roofs. It’s called like a green roof or something. That’s why if you go to any factory or warehouse or any really large building and most mansions with flat roofs, the roof will be white.
