War is always terrible only to those affected by it. I say that meaning that us, sitting in our comfy chairs, hot meals, warm beds, and clean clothes, can't know what it's like. We sympathise, but that's just our emotional instincts. We can't know, and understand how terrible it is, until we are affected. I hope things deescalate in the Russo-Ukrainian border, and troops in the frontlines for both sides could go back to their homes.

@@AN-cy7xm Yes, a bad situation even if the chief reason is to maintain a credible threat while adding a huge morale boost for Russia's proxies which don't seem to be getting decisively beaten by Ukraine's national forces. I suspect that Russia mainly wants it's new pipeline to open up without any disruptions and Putin is prepared to make Ukraine suffer if Russia doesn't get its way. If Russia were to invade anyway, Ukraine might cut the pipeline, but then they may be fighting for survival. That would be a lose lose scenario if there ever was one.
