Please, never ever let Olivera Darko do these Reviews anymore. Camera comparisons should be done by someone that knows at least anything about sharpness, or actuality of pictures and is not biased. Someone that does not favorite oversharpened ones or, in most of these cases, yellowish tint in case of the iPhone and OnePlus, greenish tint on the Pixel, or even in the case of the Samsung, blueish/magenta tint thats being considered ''good or bad exposure with good amount of contrast'', what does saturation or post-processed contrast even have to do with exposure? That gives me the feeling she has absolutely no idea what she is talking about, instead, she just seems to throw out random terms of photography to seem semi-professional. I, as a German myself, expect a high-standard on channels like these, that do mass-comparisons. But this channel has gone downhill real bad in the last few months, since Olivia has appeared. Also, what the heck was going on in the zoom-comparison? The iPhone is at 2x while all the others are at 3x and then also giving the points for the advantage you've given to the iPhone? That's truly the most insane and bullshit thing I think I have ever seen, especially because OnePlus has 3.2x optical and Pixel does not have a 3x telephoto, which the video (wrongly) suggests. You guys didn't even bother testing more than 5x where Google and Samsung exceed. Also, summary-mistake with the OnePlus and Samsung points not being considered for slow motion. Worst video on this channel so far, coming from an unbiased person watching. Olivia is a bad host for camera comparisons. Her presentation seems alright, because she tries to be friendly and not overly trendy, but most of the time, for me personally, she seems a bit over the top, with some funky movements or absolutely nothing that seems related to the real world, at least for me as a guy. She clearly, since the start of her appearance, has shown to be extremely biased towards iPhone shots, for some reason. I would understand, if the pictures would actually look better than ANY of the other phones, even a Vivo X100 Pro Plus Ultra Max Mega Super or whatever it's called, but so far, I have not seen that being the case in 9 out of 10 situations. A shame really, but she is the reason many are unsubscribing, including me many weeks ago, that at least know something about photo-/videography or just appreciate honesty without any bias. Please, for the sake of credibility, get another host to do these, at least Max was less biased than Olivia.

Unlike most commenters, i liked this comparison video. She seemed to give points based on real life accuracy most of the time and i respect that. Most reviewers i watch pick the best depending on what seems the most pleasing rather than what the real scene looked like. Pointing system at the end is flawed imo and exaggerates the differences and is probably why some people got riled up. In zoom section of the video it seemed that she is using sharpness and detail interchangably, or so i got the impression. She deducted points from samsung for being less sharp. It doesnt make sense because sharpness isnt even something that is desired, "Detail" is. In the building photo its clear that iphone is oversharpened, so samsung should have gotten more points for being less sharp, or not oversharpened in other words. I dont support any brand. The zoom example was to point out a error in your test. If you want to make a better comparison, you should fix the final pointing system and be very careful with the terms. (Though they were correct for the most part)

I don't understand why OnePlus always loses details and definition on portrait shots. Every freaking time it will fail to capture facial details, textures and definitions of the subjects on portrait shots. It will always tend to smoothen the subject along with the background. Even in the images here in this video, OnePlus portrait shots don't have details of your hair nor your jacket nor your face. Everything is smooth and flat. This is bad, especially for the flagship they are offering for 800 dollars. Sometimes even vivo and Realme with their 400 dollars phone capture sharper detailed portrait shots than OnePlus. This sucks.

To be honest though I don't really know whats happening to sammy. It wins in other comparisons though but I'm perplexed as to which to believe. Until i get one though before I'll drop a verdict

I would go with the Pixel, I don't much like it's oversharpening but in most side by side comparisons, though it trades blows with the iPhone and Samsung, it has taken my breath away, absolutely extraordinary. That said, I would like to see how it compares with the Oppo Find X7 Pro and the Vivo X100 Pro, as from a photographers perspective, those two are apparently next level, though lack the consistency of the iPhone and Pixel. Getting back to the phones you tested here, in video, though, I would go for the iPhone, though I'm interested to know how the Pixel 8 Pro does in video when shooting with MotionCam, does it equal or better the iPhone using when the latter is using Pro Res????

Like seriously saturation levels contrast can be controlled afterwards just tell which one is sharper , have better quality, hdr , dynamic range .. and yeah in saturation i means if it's slightly higher or lower cuz some phones tends to make you look like red tomato so

The truth is that if you have watched some other comparisons, on UKposts. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this camera comparison. Its just that other youtubers base on different backgrounds and scenarios and Sammy comes on top. I truly attest to the opinion that maybe samsung has made their camera to learn from top end youtubers and photographers and the scenariosthey subject the cameras to, but it seems that versus is testing the lenses new to sammy. Is there any other phone except iphone that use heif(instead of jpg) with higher dynamic range? Because its super useful to fix photos. I know that every phone got RAW, but with raws workflow is more tedious because bigger files and I lose some of automatic post processing options, heif is great compromise between jpg and raw. I wish to move to android, just don't know if any phone can give same dynamic range heif files, someone have info?

For all those hardcore Samsung fans complaining author did not do good job with this comparisson - try taking a decent pic of moving subject. Person, kid, pet... Then try to do it in indoor conditions (even with great light). Go to your gallery and see the results. Phone, especially in this price range, that can't get a decent pic of moving subject in 2024. (and there are numerous other camera problems) should not even be compared and does not belong in these kind of videos. PS no, camera assistant does not help. No, you should not pay 1500 bucks/euros and then mess with pro mode and all those settings in order to get a decent picture.

You should try turning off selfie beautification and/or artifical intelligence in galaxy when you encounter saturated photos. I for one keep both of them turned off.

Please add selfies in very sunny / high light areas. It's very often in OnePlus (at least 11) that selfies during sunny days completely loose background / all is white. I wonder if in OnePlus 12 they fixed it.

Worst video comparison

The findings of this comparison has the dubious distinction of being contrary to every other comparison I've seen of those phones, and I've seen many! Many of the reviewer's conclusions were not consistent with what I'm seeing with my own eyes; the Samsung and Pixel won this comparison for me, followed by the iPhone and then the OnePlus.

Anyhow I'll always be a sammy fan boy. Iphone is ok though, but for some reasons I am an enemy of it

Almost all these shots where you said something negative seem like user error. I own all of them except for the OnePlus. For example your macro section, You're probably holding the phones way too close. Yes it's macro but it still has a minimum focus and distance which you probably exceeded and each one of them has a different minimum focusing distance so your little contraption would not work

They manipulated this comparison by not updating the s24 Ultra which is still on the factory software, noticed from the main camera photos with some bug that underexposed faces

Some people are butthurt because bias. There is a good chance she was fair - the important question is should the top camera phones be compared in point'n'shoot. P'n'S Apple usually wins, as expected. With a tiny amount of skill in photography makes a difference in the rankings. Perhaps it is too much to ask from the customer base. I would like Samsung and Google to chase better hardware - like the chinese phones.
