OnePlus Is Intentionally Slowing Down Apps!

OnePlus is intentionally slowing down apps on the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. It seems that OnePlus has an aggressive battery saver that lowers the performance of apps like Chrome, WhatsApp, Twitter, Zoom, Instagram and others.
The OnePlus 9 series has now been removed from the Geekbench database.

The real OnePlus already dead 2 years ago.. OnePlus co-founder is leaving... Oppo take over OnePlus heavily, when you buy oneplus you basically buy oppo phone

I mean, if the optimize option is enabled, it makes sense for them to do that, but on clicking don't optimize it really should be running on the high performance cores imo...

I have OP5 for 4 years, I am amazed by the performance and everyting is nice, but this is just a shame. Probably I will never buy OP again.

I have the OnePlus 7 Pro and this last update my phone lags after every app launch like crazy. I'll go to the home screen and see no apps for over 40 seconds and it's just a frozen screen.

Thnx , been using oneplus5 since sept 2017 and i can feel so many bugs, which didn't exist previously, poor picture quality, poor ram management and many other problems

Prime candidates for custom roms. It would be interesting to see the benchmarks after flashing something else.

Alright there is definitely SOMETHING going on here. I ran this benchmark on both my Pixel 2 XL and Note 8 Exynos which you would assume would perform very similar. But no the Note 8 finished with 18.4 runs per minute while the Pixel 2 XL managed nearly double that at 33.5. Both on Chrome 91, 1440p same Wifi, no battery savers, cold start.

I agree that disabling battery optimization should have stopped this behaviour. That said, is this was an option in my phone I'd definitely enable it. It's insane how much battery Twitter takes up, considering all it has to do is display text and the occasional picture!

On the latest firmware everything is slow, I barely get the same score as my 8pro, sometimes lower

My OnePlus 7 was also slowing a bit. I found out the problem was in Ram Boost setting enabled. It is just like you mentioned. Some apps are given preferences on main core others aren't. Disabling Ram Boost speed up the performance extremely.

Gary should do a vid on the 'Lightmatter' photonic / optical GPU (matrix multiply) that claims to be 10x the computing power of a top range nVidia GPU using 10% of the electricity. Not a mainstream technology yet but everyone in the know knows optical computing is the future for desktop and mobile processing once fabrication costs match standard chips. Give it 10 to 15 years, perhaps less.
