Ali-Mery indie games are still third party productions, dude. Distinguishing between indies and partnered corporate third parties just downplays the value of indie games, given that they both count as third party in the grand scheme of things. The only difference is the size of the development studios, which clearly doesn’t have an effect on game quality (looking at you WWE). I do know, I just don’t care. The mini Direct as it is could’ve just been 4 tweets. Even the Japanese version had 2 games we should’ve had included (Sakuna and Atelier Ryza). Not to mention they might as well have included the Bakugan game shown a couple weeks ago, too. It was a poor and small showing, particularly on Nintendo of America’s part (8 minutes vs JP’s 12).

As a fan of retro platformers I feel tempted, kudos for showing so much actual gameplay, plus the trailer's narration is so over the top it looks like the game's real fun - but is it? I'd certainly love to take a blind dive into a good game, but these days you just have to be sceptical of everything if you don't wanna get ripped off.

Hmm kinda, they could've made a short crafting clip in the games style and use it for when you confirm your custom weapon if they don't already have one and use it for the trailer too.

More of both games are inspired by the same source: Classic Nintendo platformers. The swordplay is definately more Zelda 2 than Shovel Knight for instance, though with a mix of some Castlevania backdashes and item crashes

tbf girls piloting mechas or starships in videogames is nothing new, but was pretty niche and mainly a japan thing. (MUSHA and Gleylancer for megadrive are some examples)

@@stephenomenal901 samurai jack is going to be loads of fun next to windbound. But, my main hopes are for Kamen Riders new games to be released in the U.S. since Zoids will be, and for Hardcore Mecha to do well on the Switch so players could get a sequel of some sort.
