I think Marner encapsulated the Leafs perfectly. They were mentally beaten before the series even started, because of all the teams they got, it was Boston, who has had their number in the playoffs for so many seasons now. And others are KILLING Samsonov for his incorrect decision making when shots are put at him, including the five hole. The whole team were not at the races last night, and I think they never showed up even before the beginning.

When they lose this series, we can refer to this as the "summer of 69." Marner would thrive anywhere else in the league.

I'm a 100% Leaf fan. But I'm just a fan, so my take is the Leafs are built for 82 games that's it. Last yr they had bounces go there way in Tampa. The Florida series was a beating. The crease is a mess the core is anything but scary and the defence is largely non existent. It bothers me that home ice is not important to this group. And the privileged few lower bowl fans are at best enimic. Those fans outside are who you need in that building. Our fans and I include myself are just not getting it done. We booed Kessel he now has 3 cups and is the iron man. Bozak 1cup Kadri 1 cup Hyman 50+ goals and I think 9 points so far this playoff And JVR is scoring probably a cup condender with Boston Freddie getting it done in Carolina We have to decide if we're 82 games + 16 playoff wins or just poseres! I know that it is a easy answer, but think about it. first it was management so they change it, then it was coaching so they changed it, than its no key players, so they changed it. and so on and so on. Nothing works. Once a team makes the playoffs, they need to beat in a series 4 other teams to win the Stanley Cup, let that sink in just a second. That is 1 more than the entire league back in the Early 60's, which was the last time a Toronto Maple Leaf team won a Cup. So what really needs to change is the Team! Sell Them, move them, change the home ice, Change the team colors. But just get rid of the franchise and bring in some thing completely new. How many NEW Franchises have won a Cup since the Leaf's last won? Almost all of the new franchise teams have. The last team to win was St. Louis and they were one of the first new teams to be added and even they finally won again Before the Leaf's. IT's the Franchise, Get rid of the entire Franchise.
