While I agree with you that it must be true that there are people all over the world ‘like me’, perhaps ‘like us’; more often it seems more likely that we are uniquely flawed and fundamentally gifted in ways that make us the exception and not the rule. So how to get our needs met? How to meet this world of others, ‘just like us’? Intellectually I can comprehend that it’s not possible that there is no one like me, no one who could align with me & understand me; so Often it feels more like human beings just don’t come in these packages, we are searching for ghosts or an idealized self, and the way ‘we’ are made predestines us to a life of superficial ‘relationships’ with ‘normals’ (folks who don’t have our deep emotional capacity), and predestines us to a life of isolation and alienation, comforted only by ourselves. This is such a hard loss for me, but listening to this particularly sensitive and serene musical meditation during my last day with my dear cat was so healing and therapeutic. Animals can respond to music and this gentle video also appeared to visibly relax him, and seemed to have the same effect on him as my certified harp therapist friend’s playing does with terminal cancer patients in the Hospice program she works with. Malte, you have a true and rare gift for bringing joy, peace, healing, and inner quiet to others with your gorgeous music. I have listened to you since I first discovered hand pans and tongue drums about 2-1/2 years ago, and your playing is something very special because it seems to come from deep within the heart and soul. Thank you once again for the very healing gift of your beautiful music.
