There is a lot of knowledge in those long interviews. Have a look below at the questions/summary and if you find it interesting four you guys you should definitely go with the whole interview. Enjoy, Raf Questions asked to Peter and short summary: 3:32 What do you believe that very few others do? summary: Peter directs to importance of technology development. 4:52 What do you wish you had known about business 20 years ago? summary: Peter shares his experience. Tip: no need for waiting. Ask your self if you can accomplish 10 years plan in 6 months. 5:33 How important is failure in business? summary: Peter says failure is overrated and gives his opinion why. 6:31 When you hear the words successful who's the first person you think of? summary: Peter mentions a few world class entrepreneurs and says what makes them the best. 7:20 Where do you see Bitcoin going or not going in the future ? summary: Peter compares Bitcoin with PayPal. He mentions what could make Bitcoin more valuable. 8:16 What are the biggest tech trends that you see defining the future? summary: Peter says why he focuses on the company's mission instead of trends. 9:38 Why do so many investors spray-and-pray instead of focusing on just five to seven companies in each found like you do it founders found? Do you have any rules to follow or tips for those who want to invest in early-stage ventures more intelligently? summary: Peters says that spray-and-pray strategy is an effect of investor's laziness. For investors: be concentrated, convinced before you put money into sth and you'll do much better. 11:15 What problem do you face every day that nobody has solved yet? summary: Peter says about aging and people's passive attitude thinking about death. Nothing is more natural than fighting death. 12:23 What would you say to the 9.7 million unemployed people in America? summary: Peter says about a few factors of unemployment and gives a clue that fastest national growth would solve that problem. 14:07 How would you reply to someone who says that your position on college and higher education is hypocritical you yourself went to Stanford for both undergraduate and law school? summary: Peter says that not everyone should do the same thing. Before spending so much time and money ask yourself why are you doing that. 15:46 What is philosophy have to do with business and how is your study of philosophy helped you in your investing and career today? summary: no idea how to summary this question. Too complex. Must be listened in total. Ok, here is my try: often people's decisions are based on their conviction, which can be true or false. They are using shortcuts to find the truth and see what the future brings. They listen to others instead of using their owns mind. Peter says about thinking for yourself, breaking through conviction. 17:22 What do you think the future of education looks like? summary: Peter questions present educational system and shares his idea about the future. He compares education system to the Catholic Church and it's attitude on the eve of the Reformation. People treats collage diploma like a salvation prevents not going to hell. 19:42 What are your daily habits and routines? summary: Peter is trying to talk with the smartest people he knows for a long time having sustained conversations, what he found is leading him to learn everyday and expands his thinking about the world. 20:32 What one thing would you most change about your-self or improve on? summary: Peter looks back to his younger years. He says he was very competitive and reflects that competition can make you better in specific area but comes at the expense of loosing out of many other things. 21:36 What did you want to achieve by writing zero to one? summary: Peter says he wanted to share his knowledge to broaden audience and point out the importance of technology and innovation as a solution for many problems. xxxxxxxx

"What do people agree on merely by convention and what is the truth." Questioning assumptions. Looking back to the future is an interesting notion. Also not mentioned in this interview but found in another context is the concept of leanness. How does one create something in the most streamlined elegant way being mindful of the efficient use of resources? Finding something unique to pursue and focusing on it. I got a novel idea once from one line in a book and decided to pursue it because it was never done before.

Nothing makes me feel more icy inside that hearing a billionaire talk about fighting death. What is he working on behind the scenes that will be thrust upon us in the future without regard to the consequences?
@MrClockw3rk

The fact that you’re more concerned about him being a billionaire than you are with the prospect of having a billionaire direct resources towards solving human aging is even more disturbing.

11:15 Really struck a chord with me. As a vegetarian I meet this denial mentality all the time. People just believe that there is just nothing to do and your an idiot even tough medical research shows otherwise. I think about that a lot, and it can really make me sad at times, that people respond in that way.
@stanislavstaykov5250
@stanislavstaykov5250 6 років тому
Medical research doesn't show that vegetarianism is better than a healthy diet featuring both meat and vegetables. Most studies which seem to show an improvement in health factors are concerned with people who decide to switch from the standard american diet (SAD) to a vegetarian diet. Obviously this will improve their health since they are rapidly replenishing vitamins and minerals as well as losing weight and discontinuing inflammatory fats and other toxins. However this does NOT prove that not eating meat is healthier, it only proves that vegetarianism is healthier than the SAD. In fact there are studies which point out that meat eating is healthier than vegetarianism. As for Veganism it's definitely unhealthy and there are multiple studies pointing to choline, copper, b12 and zinc deficiencies associated with veganism as well as studies that show that vegans don't have a lower incidence of heart attacks or cancer compared to people on healthy diets that including meat. It is important to note that vegans also eat some amount of meat due to autophagy. P.S. I was a vegan for 6 months, vegetarian for 10 years and now I am back to eating meat again. I know what I am talking about.

So you're basically endorsing criminal ways of doing business, stifle competition by acquiring any competitor that poses the smallest threat of eating into your profits. Google is a prime example of that.

I don't think we should fight ageing or death. As it is the planet can't handle the number of people living on earth. It would be a disaster if we gave birth and lived way longer.
