it's not necessarily the bad ending. His stem was black in the bad ending of Pikmin 1, but now it's red. You also can see the ship he used in hey pikmin, so I'm guessing this is a different time where parasites got him

Pikmin always had bits and pieces about the game taking place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, in particular with PNF-404 being stated to have an atmosphere comprised of oxygen. But with all the weirdly in-tact suburban household locations, it seems like it was caused by some kind of rapture-esque event rather than some kind of natural disaster.

I mean olimars geiger counter was going crazy on earth. Assuming it measures radiation it is likely humans nuked themselves of the planet (wich also explains all the lifeforms as they would need to mutate to survive the radiation)

One thing i found interesting is that they technically canonized the bad ending from the first game by having a pikmin version of Olimar being your opponent in the challenges. I find that spey cool

I remember when I was really young my dad got me pikmin 3 for the Wii U and I played that game so much I’m so excited I’m crying it looks so good I can fairly say they did a good job and I feel like I’m gonna crap my pants at night when all the scary monsters are out.

This is actually insanely cool. Some of those environments looked incredibly unique. I saw what looked like a pet store aquarium zone, a huge indoor zone, and a few cool looking dungeons. Please let this game be good, Pikmin deserves its spot right up there next to the Mario and Zelda franchises.

As a pikmin fan there’s just too much in exited about, I was already exited about all of this so far but I started freaking out when I saw that OLIMAR DID BECOME A PIKMIN?! And with all the other mechanics and game play options, he’ll even making bingo battle part of the main game was a smart move, and I’m just way too exited for this amazingly worked on game

@@dustymcwari4468 but at the same time, the continents keep shifting from today's placement (as seen in 1 and 2) to Pangea Proxima (3 and Hey! Pikmin). It's very inconsistent but maybe there's something else at play. EDIT: turns out the planet in Hey! Pikmin is a separate planet to PNF-404. This implies humanity may have made interstellar transportation possible.

0:13 : Crabs returns, Old enemy returns + puffer-fish + the elephant like monster. 0:56 : Oatchi shows what it can do. 1:31 : Old Pikmin 1 boss return. 1:52 : White Pikmin in story mode. 2:03 : Wtf happened to Olimar ? 3:06 : New Bulborb, the evolution chain is now complete. 3:12 : New Pikmin, the Glow Pikmin. 3:33 : Purple Pikmin in story mode. 3:39 : Two boss are revealed. 3:50 : We can walk on the floor of the house. Cant wait for it !

It looks like you’ll not only be able to customize your character, but all the other crew mates too. When you find a cast away, you can’t see inside their helmet and they just have a blank default jumpsuit, so maybe you get to control how everyone of your crew mates look! Or maybe that’s just for secrecy on what castaway you’ll find. Who knows, just a thought. :)

You could be able to customize them, but I think it's more likely that, those are the new characters and they don't want to spoil how they look, so they have place holder characters for the time being.

Okay, silly theory time. The Pikmin timeline is being split. On one side of the timeline, Olimar makes it back home in Pikmin 1, then returns to PNF-404 with Louie in Pikmin 2, and finally meets the Koppaites in Pikmin 3. This is the side we've already seen. Now, we are getting the other side of the timeline. Olimar did not make it back home in Pikmin 1. Instead, he died and got turned into a Pikmin-like creature through the onion. A rescue team has been dispatched to rescue him on PNF-404 since it is near the location his ship was last traced. Welcome to Pikmin 4.

They’re bringing everything back! The fully grown armoured canon beetle; clampearls; dweevils; mamuta (he’s so fluffy X3). We’re even getting bulborbs between larvae and adult stages. And oh yeah, 2:05 OH MY GOD! OLIMAR’S A PIKMIN HYBRID! The theorists were right! This may very well be an alternate timeline continuing on form the and ending of Pikmin 1 where he dies and the Pikmin put him in the onion.

They really thought hard about the original Pikmin games when making this and even added original and new ideas in. Something tells me that when I play it I might understand why it took so long to make.

This game looks absolutely wonderful! I certainly would not dare to pass up on it! Also, I never realized Mamutas are fluffy! That's so adorable! By the way, what's with Olimar (if that even is him)? He looks like a cross between a Pikmin and a Sasquatch.

If only orange pikmin was real, we can have 10 types of pikmins. And since we can carry no more than 100 pikmins, we can have 10 pikmins for each 10 types.

I was iffy on Olimar being involved again, but I like what they did. They murdered him and turned him into a Pikmin hobo! Like the first games bad ending! This all looks amazing too. The Mamuta and Armored Cannon Beetle are back, and the new creatures look awesome too!

Pikmin 1 bad ending follow-up is the last thing I'd expect from Nintendo, but here we are acknowledging our protagonist's death and monstrous resurrection.

No it’s definitely a sequel. It wouldn’t make sense for this to be a follow up to the bad ending of pikmin 1. There too many things that shut that theory down. - the announcer says that Olimar has crashed *again* - Olimar has his on Oatchi creature which aren’t native to the pikmin planet so he must of brought it with him. - In the bad ending his stem is black and here he’s red, I think it makes a lot more sense if end being revealed that Olimar died when he crashed on the planet for a fourth time and was then replanted.

I said this before and I'll say this again. The evil leaf creatures are clearly infected Hocotatians, but not from the Onions, because we have seen what Onions do to Hocotatians in the Bad Ending of "Pikmin I". (If I am wrong, please don't spoil it.)

This looks simply amazing. I am so ready for this game! Also, it seems like this game really does take place after the bad ending of Pikmin 1 if the leafy Olimar is based on when he gets turned into a Pikmin in that ending

As someone who played hours upon hours of 1 and 2 on the GameCube growing up, I can’t emphasis how cool it is these games are finally on the switch. Felt like something yearned by the community for so long, and it truly never felt like the Pikmin franchise would ever get the attention it deserves. So cool man can’t wait to play all 4 on my switch

1. There are REAL (True Bulborb) Dwarf Bulborbs 2. Glow Pikmin (I knew we were getting a "hidden" type we haven't seen yet. 3. An upgrade system for Oatchi and gear? I was expecting Oatchi would change with how small he is in some of the shots but this is awesome!
