Nah , it doesn’t really make sense seeing as it’s little brother the 9 is already smaller , I actually liked the 8 pro with its larger size the first pixel I have liked in a long time , sadly it looks like the 8 pro will be my last pixel . I’ll buy an Apple pro max or Samsung ultra next time.

If so there will be better OS support for smaller screens / devices...

@mikldude9376 Yeah, every Pro model should come in small and large sizes. They should also have the same finishes such as matte backs. Then there needs to be an entry-level model such as the Pixel 8 non Pro.

Pixel 9 will definitely not be 550 more like 800. The Pixel 9a will probably be around 550.

No chance as tech inflation is real. The price of making a Pixel 9 will be close to $500 for the base model, so it is very unrealistic for you to request it for $550.

What problems are you having with network reception? I live in a smaller city that is semi-rural, I have no issues with reception. The Pixel 8 Pro I have is better than my wife's OP8 or my old OP9 on T-Mobile.

Leaks suggest the Tensor will still be based upon the current exynos samsung chip that powers the S24. For me tensor has been a bit of a let down.

I have the pixel 7pro yet I still use & adore my 6 more.

Thanks , we really don't get to hear how well/badly these Google phones operate in hot countries. Sure, people in Florida and Texas use them , but they are cars or buildings with a/c.

And no cost cutting, should showcase what Android is really capable of.

Leaks says its going to be the xynos based chip that powers the current S24. Then shortly after that Snapdragon 8gen 4 will be unveiled. It'll probably perform slightly worse than the 8 gen 3 but not enough to really notice. But it wont be long before its blown out the water by other manufacturers using faster storage, more RAM, bigger batteries, SD8 gen4, better displays etc. They need to stop using rebadged xynos and do what Apple does with its processors. Stop playing catchup.

My OnePlus 7 Pro is still my favorite phone that I've ever owned! It was such a refreshing change. And not having that punch hole really was noticeable while watching video.

@@matjam421 I love this! I have the OnePlus 7t Pro McLaren 5G. I have two of them. Unfortunately, I thought it was a better idea to trade in my 7 Pro for the 7t Pro special edition. I wish I'd kept my OnePlus 7 Pro. I had already switched it to the international software so I was getting updates directly from OnePlus. It was easier to sideload the updates. I really enjoyed being a an active member of the OnePlus community in the community app. I do also have a OnePlus 8T plus 5G but it slipped out of my pocket while I was closing my car door and it's done or at least the screen is and even now The replacements for that are ridiculously high so I just haven't found it in me to buy the parts and replace the screen in the back glass yet

You don’t buy a pixel for the top of the line performance. I wish they’d just go with a snapdragon or even a mediatek processor. But software is the biggest selling point. I wish I could get the pixel software on a Sony Xperia. That’d be awesome.

@@wade196840 I agree with the pro models. If you get a sale on the regular models, they’re good value. But imo A series is the best value for money for any phones out there.

If not for the software issues with power management blocking google app notifications, I'd probably still be on OnePlus. My OP9 had issues in Android 12 (tons of updates, no fix) and Android 14. No such issues on my Pixel 8 Pro running Android 14. I'd love to have a OnePlus phone again but I can't risk missing alerts.

@@wade196840 yes, that's not the problem. There is a bug where most Google branded apps (ie Gmail) do not show up in the power management list. The OS automatically silences alerts and you will only get them when the phone is restarted or while the app is open in the foreground. This is unacceptable if you need to see all work emails without delay

You cannot compare just specs. I’ve had plenty of phones over the years, Samsung, Oneplus, Sony, iphones and Pixels… software is key for performance.

@@oneplusaim1582 Why, there are bigger phones every year, but my tiny tyrannosaurus rex hands have less and less options, there should be at least on option under 6 inches otherwise you can't reach with thumb at the end of screen. That's basic usability.

@@Feefa99 I wish I could heart react to this. My heart goes out for you man. I have been seeing a lot on the the Asus Zen phone. They've been talking about it being the last small form factor but I mean hey October, a lot of us are excited for the new pixel. I've got the pixel 7 Pro. The pixel 8 Pro is in my hand and I had the first Google pixel XL so kind of moving back to that. XL branding is a little nostalgic too, but I really think that they were on to something the way that they did that first one. It was a little thicker at the top and then got thinner down towards the bottom. Almost like a wedge to eliminate a camera bump and it felt great in the hand and I think even the XL was under 6 inches lol. I know that being able to reach the whole screen is a big thing for a lot of people and even though I want a bigger phone, I don't necessarily have the biggest hands it's something about The presentation I feel like the bigger the screen with less interruptions like those under the screen front-facing cameras or a pop-up camera like the OnePlus 7 Pro with no interruptions. The immersion is just like next level. So really it's less to me about the typing experience because there's lots of one-hand modes and stuff that are still pretty decent on these phones that I occasionally activate accidentally like especially when I'm playing games like warzone mobile and stuff like that. The bigger the screen, the more immersive, the experience, the easier and more fun it is to play. If foldable phones were more readily available at more price points and they were more durable than they are now. Realistically, it probably wouldn't be my daily driver. It would probably just be my gaming phone because I can open it up and have this bigger screen in a more immersive experience. I'm not sure how I feel yet 😂😂😂. I Apologize for Rambling
