There are 3 requirements for mortal sin and one of them is full knowledge of the sin you are committing. Yes, you're right except that Holy Communion cannot be taken by anyone who has MORTAL SIN on their soul. There must be a confession by The Sacrament of Reconciliation and PENANCE and a real turning away from that sin. To take the Sacrament of Holy Communion is punished by another Mortal Sin on that person's soul. It is also a direct slap in the face of our Lord and Savior.

The Orthodox Christians receive Holy Communion on their tongue. That is why the Eucharist is so sacred. They believe in the reverence of the Mass. Mass is not just an obligation to them it is a way of life. Just like traditional Catholics when they attend Latin Mass. When you say, of course we believe it, it's God between us, - there are Vatican II Catholics who view receiving Holy Communion as an automatic obligation. They do not believe in the supernatural presence of God in the Blessed Sacrament. They believe they are automatically saved by receiving Holy Communion. They don't regularly go to Confession. Some are not in a state of grace before receiving Holy Communion.. Some run out of Church after receiving Holy Communion. They view Holy Communion as a symbol only. As a whole, Mass needs to have more reverence and that includes more reverence when receiving Christ in Holy Communion. That reverence extends to how we are living our lives outside of Church. We have to be in a state of grace to receive Holy Communion and not have grave or mortal sin on our souls without going to Confession first. Confessions need to be more frequent. Personally I cannot help reflect on his point each time, every single member of every congregation in every mass, recites the words," Lord I am not worthy to recieved you in my house..." Of course, the Eucharist isn’t to be a political weapon. Though the bishops in the American Catholic Church need to defend orthodoxy, at the same time, it must send the message to all that God does not play politics and is absolutely neither conservative nor liberal nor any kind of political affiliation.

It's wrong but it's a very small amount of priests and the Catholic Church is wrong for the coverup. Just remember something though if anyone who is Christian is looking for the perfect church good luck with that. You stepped into that church and you know you're not perfect and if the church if the body of believers then what does it make that church when you stepped into it. There are good men out there of the faith that are silent and say nothing letting wicked clergy allow this kind of stuff to happen. And it's not just the Catholic Church.
