Who knew you could find naturally occurring radioactive rocks, right alongside civilization? Not me! They look just like any ordinary old rock, so how would you even know if your whole town was full of them? Well, I guess you'd need a geiger counter for that. Or a friend like Mike!
By the way, today is our 2-year anniversary of living in the bus! On October 6th, 2020, we started our adventure during a crazy pandemic and we're not stopping anytime soon! Hope you stick around to see where our next year takes us!!

About Us:
Hi! We're Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We built a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible. Bussy was never meant to be parked in a driveway, waiting for weekend trips or holiday getaways. After we finished the build, we packed everything we kept into the bus and drove away from our old house and into the world of off-grid living, aka boondocking, and endless travel adventures!
Since we planned to be boondocking the majority of the time, we made choices such as; a 100-gallon water tank, an Air Head composting toilet, a 1500w solar power system with 1000Ah in AGM batteries, etc. We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, from our Skoolie Build Series, to infinite buslife adventures beyond!

I find the hiway sounds much more annoying than the geiger counter. Glad you two are back!

Radioactive meaning: What is ionizing radiation? Ionizing radiation is a form of energy that acts by removing electrons from atoms and molecules of materials that include air, water, and living tissue. Ionizing radiation can travel unseen and pass through these materials.

Love seeing you guys again. What's the dangers in handling that hot stuff?
@BussyMcBusface
@BussyMcBusface Рік тому
It's not really that dangerous. I think the real precautions you would need to take would be to wash your hands after handling the rocks to make sure you don't get any radioactive particles inside of you.

Is that stuff going to irritate your electronics?
@BussyMcBusface
@BussyMcBusface Рік тому
There's a huge difference between detectable radiation and dangerous radiation. The instruments we were using are very sensitive and so they detect very very low levels of radiation which is generally what naturally occurring radiation is.

So what do you do with them? Are they useful in an energy way? Or is this just a hobby collection? --chris

No need to appologize kids. Unfortunately life gets in the way of fun sometimes, but you got to take care of those necessities first. This was very interesting, but now that you have some uranium, or radium or whatever it is what will you do with it?
