A lot of unwanted, abused, or abandoned children in Russia still have to grow up in institutions; they gave these children an alternative, growing up with a real family where they are loved. Northern Russian Yakut and other indigenous people are among the toughest and most resilient in the world; they are like the Inuit people in many ways, able to survive almost anything nature has to throw at them, with no complaints or self-pity and with incredible grace and patience. And it's clear it doesn't matter to them whether the children they adopted are Yakut or ethnic Russian; they are all God's children.

These parents are the embodiment of true carers. So much love around them. 💖

Please don't be hard on yourself being a parent is one of the hardest things to do, especially when you are a new parent. A good father is one who is worried about doing their best, so you are already amazing. Sleep deprivation can be debilitating and impacts a lot of things like clear thinking, patience, feeling depressed, decision making, increase in stress levels, diet etc etc. It's okay to sometimes think what have I got myself into, or I don't want to do this anymore when you are exhausted. Keep communication open with your partner and look out for each other. Take the advice of well meaning friends, family and strangers (had to put that in because here I am again giving people advice) and do the things that fit how you and your partner want to parent. Most importantly spend time just looking at your beautiful baby and realise how amazing life is. Good luck and God bless your little family.

Do not spoil the child! That’s the worst thing one can do to their children. Find balance and keep them involved. Don’t let them slack and be lazy, limit screen time and teach them about living life. I would have killed for better parents. Ours used us as slaves and made us fear life. If we would have had an ounce of caring parents we would have been so much farther ahead. Teach them well. Teach them self respect (not esteem), teach them about finances and helping others. Volunteer. Hard work and how to relax and play when a job well done. Don’t buy into the garbage of social media and you will do fine. Be strong. 💪🏼

The only thing that surprised me is only one bathroom for so many of them.
